Hi fraaands! Are you shocked that we have a Farmhouse Friday 439 this week? Me too! Cuz, y’all, it’s been a week. I think it started because I asked the mister to finish the bathroom. That meant hang the toilet paper holder and the two hand towel rings. I didn’t even mention the mirror in the guest bath or the touch-up paint in the kitchen. I know what you’re thinking… She’s so generous. I’d do it myself, but I was told not to touch it. He may know something I don’t.
We (he) didn’t get around to any of that because magically, he got an alert saying we had a water leak somewhere. Did you know your water meter will tell you info like that? Forevermore.
Anyway, we found it. It’s under the slab in the middle of the house. Yay. The Mister isn’t happy and has mentioned the cost about 15 times.
To top it off, he’s mentioned that I have an oil leak in my car about as many times. But goodness gracious, she’s 12 years old for pity’s sake. The way I see it, things could be worse. I’m wandering around the house singing “I’m leaning, leaning, leaning on the Everlasting Arms”. If anyone doesn’t know what that means, it’s a very old hymn. Like 1800’s old.
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms!
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms!
Safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning,
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms!
O how bright the path grows from day to day,
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms!
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms!
I have peace complete with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms!

Donna,
O No!! A leak under the slab…We do not have a basement and the pipes went under our townhouse. We had to jack hammer through our Living Room to fix the main. A smart plumber developed a way to run the pipe up through the front door, fasten it along the wall and disguise it with an electric heater cover, also protecting it. This way it is not exposed to the elements or affected by ground settling. This was done in about all the houses here and no one has had an issue since…..My Link Ups for today’s party are # 8, 9 and 10!
Thanks so much for hosting this charming party!!! I truly do appreciate it as I do know the time involved with it….I hope you and your family are well and enjoying your week!
Hugs,
Deb

Yikes. That sounds like a hefty bill. I’m very glad they didn’t have to drill through our floor. It’s right where the tile and wood come together. Although we need new tile, now is not the time. Thanks Debbie for linking up.
I’m so sorry to hear about the leak under your slab, Cindy. We had a similar situation with the house we just bought…something that was found in the inspection. Fortunately, it was repaired before we moved in and the cost wasn’t as bad as we thought. I guess these are the joys of homeownership! May your leak be repaired quickly and with minimal cost.
Thank you for featuring my curtains. They make me smile every time I walk in that room.

I’d smile too if I saw that little curtain. As for the house, we’ve gone years without anything major, so I guess we were due. It’s good to hear your situation turned out on a positive note. 🙂 Have a great week!
Thanks for hosting and enjoy your weekend!

Thank you Shelley, you too!
Oh, how I love that hymn. Brings back the fondest of memories. We just had our van in for an oil leak and transmission leak. I was estimating $2-3000. repair bill and it was only $900! God is so good.

Yes! I need to get out of the house this weekend. The drilling noise is getting to me. Thanks for linking up, MaryJo. Happy Friday
I’m sooooo sorry Cindy about the water leak. I’m starting to imagine what is involved in fixing that…. so maybe we should turn our attention to something else LOL! Thanks so much sweet friend for the feature. You really made my day! Hugs!

I agree and turned my attention to cleaning the wood blinds in our bedroom. My gosh! The amount of construction dust on those things could fill a pool! No wonder the air purifier is whining, and my allergies are ridiculous! You are welcome for the feature. I couldn’t go another week without making sure everyone saw them! Hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather. Happy spring!
“Leaning On the Everlasting Arms” and “Petticoat Junction” – what a fun trip down memory lane, Cindy! I, too, have a hubby who is a wonderful handyman, which is an amazing blessing! The only problem is that everything gets done on his timeline and it doesn’t always match mine! LOL! Thanks so much for hosting us all! Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!
