Farmhouse Friday 453

Blueberry Salsa with a single chip
Spread the love

Hey, hey, hey!  Welcome to Farmhouse Friday 453.

I’ve been so excited this week.  After 25 years, we are having the exterior trim painted.  The Mister could have gone another several years because his motto has always been – if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.  But this last winter, we had a large raccoon climb up to the second floor and rip off several feet of siding.  I feel he only wanted warm shelter, but the Mister emphatically said – too bad.

It was a sad day for the raccoon, but I’m on cloud 9.  When the painters come, they’ll make several repairs from the many squirrels trying to dig their way in, just like the raccoon.

Afterwards, if you promise not to clutch your pearls over my drama, I’ll share a before-and-after photo next week.

Okay, on to next week’s theme – let’s do FLOWERS!  Everything is dying around here, so anything floral should brighten our days.

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 453

piece of Banana split cake with a cherry and nuts on topLast week our theme was The Great Cool Down, and if this doesn’t cool you down, you might as well jump in an ice bath.  This looks delicious.  Thank you, Yummi Haus, for the Banana Split Cake recipe.  Y’all pop on over and pin it!

platter of summer desserts with fruit on topThe ladies at Our Grand Lives shared 3 ways to make a fabulous dessert.  Everyone loves choices, right?!  Right!  So I’ll take one of each, please.  🙂  Mmmm, finger lickin’ good.

GLass of pink watermelon palona with a sliced jalapeno on topThis enticing Spicy Watermelon Paloma from Homemade on a Weeknight sounds like trouble!  But I choose to see it as perfect for a party.  Plus, who wants watermelon juice running down their arms?

Blueberry Salsa with a single chipOne thing about Texans, we love our salsa.  So when I saw the words Blueberry Salsa, I was already dreaming of serving it up this weekend!  My friends are going to LOVE it!  Hurry over and get the recipe from 3 Boys and a Dog.  Yum!

I can totally relate. It seems there is always a critter trying to live in my house. We spend so much time trying to figure out ways to keep them out.

Enjoy your new house paint color! I always worry about racoons and other critters getting into our atic. I know they try but so far have been unsuccessful.

The first time it was a family of squirrels. All we did then to get them out was let the dogs up there. They came scurrying out the hole and James was there to close it back up. We counted 4 that time! Every time we do it, it’s sad for me because I know it’s a shock to their system and now they have to find new digs. 🙁 Thank you for stopping by Pat.
