Our Neutral Christmas Entryway

Spread the love

Howdy Beautiful Happy Friends!  As I was thinking about this post, I was wondering if it was too late to share our neutral Christmas entryway and maybe do a little singing too.  Did you know I sing?  I sing in the shower and in my car and loud for all to hear but when I sing, even the alley cats run for the hills.  Not kidding.  If I was ever granted one wish, it would be to sing.  Well actually, I’d wish for more wishes first.  Anyway, some of you could be sick of looking at Christmas decorating posts.  I get it.  If you are, stay around anyway, you might see something you’ll want to pin for next year.

Our Neutral Christmas Entryway

Most of y’all know, it was all about the Montana vacation for me this year.  You must be tired of reading about it because I’m so over talking about it.  So that’s it!  No more. ๐Ÿ™‚  Our entry started with the fantastic Noble Fir tree from King of Christmas.  I was perfectly fine with letting it sit there in all its natural beauty but my people out voted me.  Being the wonderful woman I am, I complied and filled it with my favorite ornaments – no vote taken.  Blah blah, they have another tree.

Each week when I was decorating for Christmas, I took myself up to Lowe’s and asked for the limbs they trim off the bottom of the sold trees.  I got as much as my arms could carry.  For free!  So the fresh greens you see here in this house all came from Lowe’s.  A quick hint to keep them feeling soft is to mist them with water each day.  I make sure the water is on the ends of the limbs as well.

I’m not going to mention those rustic wooden M_nt_na inspired ornaments in the jar or how much I ad_r_ them because I said I wouldn’t but that idea was in a Pinterest Challenge where you can find many more fun ideas.  I you’d like to see them, click here.  I DIY’d the wreath holder on the right hand side.  The vintage fork has held wreaths, tea towels, special ornaments and now a fresh Christmas bough.  If you’d like to make your own, click here for that.  That post was a hop too so more great ideas found there as well!

Gray wreath with wooden trees and black lamp“I am wishing for New Year memories” Fa-la-la-la-laaa, la-la-la-la”

I was looking at old photos the other day and remembered we painted the walls this year.  Actually, I didn’t actually forget.  Each time I walk into the house a grin crosses my face and I’m one happy girl.  I miss the smell of fresh paint.  It’s like that new carpet smell.  Wish someone could bottle that!  I’d buy it.  But I digress.  This is the ledge halfway up the stairs.  A wonky space for sure.  I posted last years Christmas decor on my Instagram account and was excited to see the difference and noticed how much my style has changed.  If you don’t follow me on Instagram, click here.  I’d love to get to know you better.

Thanks for sticking around all the way to the end of the post and checking out our neutral Christmas entryway.  I’ve decided to stick with keeping the large furniture pieces neutral in 2021 with seasonal color changes throughout the year.  I enjoy making small inexpensive changes.  The Mister likes that too.  I might bring in more black accents though.  I go back and forth on that but I’ve been a big believer in that every room needs a little black in it.  Whether it be an accent table, a metal piece on the wall or books holding up a lamp.  Black looks fantastic in a room!  But that’s a whole other post.

Happy Decorating Friends and Merry Christmas!

Love your dry-brushed (?) wreath with that white bow. Also the wreath hanger made with the silverware. Brilliant! Did you share that in a tutorial for us?

You are super sweet to say that and I really appreciate it. You caught me on a day of needing some validation because if you could see the mess in it right now, you may just change your mind. Thank you Rachel!

Thanks so much Marlene! I’d like to one day remove the carpet and add hardwood instead but we can’t do that until our little dogs pass away. Happy Sunday!

The elegance of your entryway and the sweet simplicity of the greens with the beautiful ribbon are stunning. I just have one problem with this post. Little girl, you seem like an angel. And with such joy every time. Great post!

Not sure what you mean by “seem like an angel” but I’m sure it’s a positive compliment. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thank you and Merry Christmas

Thank you Stacy. I love neutrals too and each year someone pressures me into adding more red. No more! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hope you have a blessed Christmas.

I am loving the neutrals and so happy to see more Christmas decor from you today. I feel the same way about wishing I could sing. I sing all the time, but only if I’m alone! Merry Christmas my friend.

Maybe we could start a singing group?! And have a cool name and give our families a scare! Merry Christmas Kim.
