Hello my beautiful friends!  Happy New Year!  I for one was excited to give 2020 the boot.  And I also believe most of us thought it was tougher than nickel steak and that’s being generous.  So I’m starting this new year off with three things – a new outlook, a new attitude and more decor ideas.  How about you?  Let’s paint the town and heck, why not paint the porch this year too?!  But for now, let’s begin with how to decorate your mantle for a winter vibe that will keep us cozy all season.

How To Decorate Your Mantle For A Winter Vibe

I found all of these great ideas on Pinterest and put them on my Winter Decorating Ideas Board.  If you aren’t following me on Pinterest, click here because I usually pin beautiful things every day for us to admire and inspire.  🙂

This mantle is gorgeous and the look will last all winter long.  She stuck with 3 main colors and it’s why I think Sarah’s mantle is stunning.  Using thick greenery, lots of white candles and accenting with gold pieces works wonderfully.  Most of these things can be found at thrift stores if you don’t already have things around your home to use.

Same goes for this one.  I know this super cute farmhousy mantle may look like it’s for Christmas.  And it is, but take away those stockings and it too will have a fun winter vibe for months.  The layered frames and beads hanging on top of the greenery is what really catches my eye.  Another easy to do mantle!

Are you seeing a theme here?  Dark greens and white candles?  If you look closely you’ll notice Lauren has used rolled up sheets of music under three glass cloches to add more white to her mantle.  That fabulous garland is a nice touch breaking up the white mantel and brick below.

In this simple yet elegant mantel, Jenny shares how to make the white Pom Pom garland.  I really like it with the pinecones and don’t think her mantle would be the same without it.  Plus the added whimsy is like snowballs.

Okay, so technically this one isn’t a mantle but it could be!  All we need to do is add a framed photo or saying, gather a few brown bottles, greenery and pinecones.  Layer them with boxes or woods and voila, we have ourselves a very warm and pretty mantle.  If you don’t have brown bottles, try clear ones, blue ones or green ones.  They would all give off a wintery look.

But wait, there’s more! More Winter Decorating Ideas!

three mini pine trees in silver pots

Seems like white colored items, whether it be candles, garland or frames is a common denominator for a winter vibe.  Greenery too.  And I love the added woodsy touches.  I think it will keep things warm and not stark or cold.  Remember when I made these little pine trees and added them to the vintage silver sugar and creamer sets?  I think several of those all gathered together would make for a cute mantle!

Last year I joined in with several talented bloggers for a Winter Home Tour.  I shared One Lantern with 3 Different Winter Looks.  It was very hard to decide which was my favorite.  Check out all 24 beautiful ideas by clicking the link above!

I want this year to bring us all new hope, new beginnings and lots of new decorating ideas!  I plan to make several inexpensive changes to both homes and will share them with you.  My goal is for all of us to love our homes with no apologies and no excuses!  Who’s with me?!

Happy New Year and Happy Decorating Friends!

This is the first year I’m actually looking forward to winter decor. Last year and the 15 years before that, our walls were still that ugly dog puke gold so woo hoo, bring on the neutral winter colors! Thanks for the visit today Tammy! Hope you have a fantastic new year.

Yes. YEs. YES! Let’s give 2020 the pointy-toed boot kick! Not being all together for Christmas was the worst for me. Glad it’s over, and I’m praying for recovery for all. Physical, emotional and financial. Time to concentrate on fun things, like all those in your “for the love of pink” Pinterest page. Happy New Year to all!

Seeing all these pretty mantles makes me long for one in my home.
    But I haven’t the room.
I do have a tiny electric stove and can add decor on top of it. A bowl of pine branches and a candle!

    Happy New Year:)

Your electric stove sounds like a perfect place to turn into a mantel. And no matter the size, candles are always nice. Howdy 2021!

I really want decorating to be easier for people that feel they don’t have the “knack” for it so those words are so encouraging to me! Thank you so much CoCo. You made my week. Bless you!
