Spread the love

Happy Friday friends, and thank you for visiting Farmhouse Friday 441.  I feel like I’m always complaining about something.  Well, not this week.  And hopefully never again!

Instead, I’d love to hear something that’s been going on in your life.  Does anyone have a new grandbaby on the way?  Maybe you got a new job or are moving to another town?  Maybe one of your kiddos is graduating this year.  Please let me know in the comments.  I’d like to celebrate with you!

If you missed my latest post, you should check it out.  It gave me the encouragement I needed to do something about our yard and the weeds that are laughing at me through the window.  It’s not gardening tips.  That would be comical.  It’s ideas you can create to add character and smiles for days.

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 441

Let’s get to the features.  As always, it was hard to choose just four.

I’m from north of Dallas (not far from the OK border) ~ in fact, one of my grandsons is graduating OU in a few weeks, and have another one graduating Arkansas in May too. Great news is they both have jobs lined up in their field, so that’s good! I can never find where the theme of the week is, so just post what I’ve posted for my daily food page (National food days primarily), and since I just sold baked goods at a local mini market (where they expect my biscotti), there will be a new biscotti and giant cookie recipe each week too. I love doing unusual and unexpected flavors and found out that the bigger the cookies with as much “stuff” I can put on top (ala Crumbl), the better they sell! * Catch y’all again next week!

    • April 26, 2026 / 10:25 am

Thank you for sharing! Our youngest graduated from OU (a few years ago) and I remember thinking the same thing – I’m glad and excited she has a job already lined up in her field! In today’s world, that could be a bit harder, so hip hip for for both grandkids! I’m sure y’all are super excited for them. Even though I’m not much of a baker, I enjoy seeing what you and others create. I bet your mini market is fabulous. I’d love being out and talking to people. And of course I’d have to wear an apron with pockets. That’s always my favorite part. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Cindy, thank you for hosting FHF!!! I have linked up #86, #87, and #88 and two have something to do with gardening. It’s that lovely time of year! The other is a family heritage story and part of a new series incorporating America’s 250th anniversary. Not popular with everyone but I am happy to be a Mayflower descendant. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great week and I LOVE those teacups hanging off the iron on the fence! I need to do that… ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Big hugs,
    Barb ๐Ÿ™‚

Hanging tea cups is perfect for your yard Barbara! They would look fantastic. And I’m looking forward to reading your new America series. Thanks so much for linking up. Happy gardening! BTW, if you don’t get your fill at your house, please come over to mine. I need some MAJOR help in the backyard. :0

It is so refreshing to read a post focused on celebration rather than complaints, and I’d love to share that we just got the news of a new grandbaby on the way! Your outdoor ideas sound like the perfect encouragement to finally tackle those weeds and add some summer character to our yards before the season really kicks in.

Oh my goodness, that is fantastic news! What a fun celebration Mother’s Day will be. Thanks for sharing!
