Howdy friends!  I know it’s only August but as a blogger it’s my job to inspire you for future seasons as well as everyday life.   That being said, did you know I have a blogging life motto?  I constantly think of and live by the words of Elsie de Wolfe – “I am going to make everything around me beautiful, that will be my life.”  And a great life that is!  So with fall approaching here are 5 of my favorite fall looks for the wondrous season!

5 of my favorite fall looks for the wondrous season!

gourds and leaves on a wood chest with a fall sign on wallFavorite Fall Look #1 – Liz Marie Blog

Yes, my first go-to is always Liz Marie Galvin.  She lives in my dream house, on my dream land and probably in my dream state of Michigan (haven’t decided yet).  What I adore about this photo is the neutral monochromatic color palette.  It’s full of natural texture with a touch of whimsy.  Wouldn’t you love walking into this mudroom everyday?!

Becca used small touches of color that coordinated with the wood floors and ceiling.  Doing this seems to make the entire room wrap around you like a warm blanket.  If you have darker woods, use darker greens and browns.  Lighter woods will do the same thing.  Choose books, plant pots, pillows and pumpkins to match to get the same cozy feeling.

vintage white chest with chairs and orange pillows and fall stemsFavorite Fall Look #3 – Robyn’s French Nest

Robyn has awesome vintage treasures to decorate with during the fall season.  What makes this room extra homey is the use of 3 main colors.  The whites and different shades of gold and green keep this room cohesive and from being overwhelming.  She’s also spaced out the strong color so your eye continues around the room.

If anyone can make a single twig look captivating, it’s Vibeke.  When you inspect this photo, you can see three basic elements that make you want to jump inside and live.  She’s used natural stems, baskets and the color green.  You can create this inside your home too.  Not much else (maybe pumpkins) says fall like fresh cut stems with autumn leaves displayed in a basket or vase.  Am I right?  Yep!  😉

If you don’t get the warm fuzzies from this autumn table setting, I’m not sure you have a pulse.  You can never go wrong with gold and green.  Even with a coastal or modern home, they are fantastic colors together.  She has a gold painted chandelier (you’ll have to click on the link to see it) so her centerpiece is so striking against the woods and black hutch behind the table.  The added greens and browns around the room remind me of Thanksgivings and family – all perfect for the coziest of fall decorating ideas.

I hope these 5 favorite fall looks for the wondrous season have inspired you to get excited and to start planning how you want to decorate.  I’ve decided to go with golds and greens this year.  Using black accents as a third color in the dining room (because of the mantel) and using white as a third color in our family room (because of the furniture). Stop back by in a couple of weeks to see what has transpired!

Love all those looks, Cindy. I’m ready for fall, spent a solid afternoon last Sat putting all my summer decor away and putting out some early fall transitional things (which will likely end up being my total fall look, ain’t got time to keep dressing the house!).

Our heat wave in Maine broke today; I can begin to think about fall when it is 64 degrees! Never ready for ME summer to be over but this year’s heat may have changed my mind. I love all the harvest colors you featured altho I tend to like bright colors, best, ( admire people who can put together such coordinated looks!

I understand Kathy. I go between the bright colors and the deep burgundy and rust colors. I’m very fickle! Jealous of your temps. Enjoy the cool days.
