Summer Color Combinations for Home Decorating

Spread the love

Hello Sweet Friends!  Are y’all thinking about summer vacations yet?  I am and I’m really hoping things will be good enough around the country so we can even take one.  But, if that doesn’t happen, at least we can add summer color to our homes.  Today’s post will be a pick-me-up of Summer color combinations that won’t make your home look like a preschool nursery room either.  Plus, they could put you in a dreamy vacation mode like they did me!

Summer Color Combinations

I don’t want you to think I’m ungrateful for the fabulous and unusual spring weather we’re having.  Actually, I can’t remember the last time we had a Texas spring like this – it’s fantastic!    However nice, my mind is wandering to beaches, pool side parties and road trips.

Tranquil and Serene

This first color combination above makes me want to travel far and away. The blues are mesmerizing and tranquil.  I can totally get behind this one and feel as if I’m on a secluded island.  Quarantine wouldn’t be so bad if that were my plight. Just sayin.

Hip hop and a skippity pop

Doesn’t this one put a big ol’ grin on your face?  It does me!  This happy combination brings the outdoors in.  So if you live in a climate where the heat keeps you inside and air-conditioning keeps you sane, this palette could have you skipping from room to room.

“Clambake”

There’s something about this photo taken by Paul Fuentes that reminds me of Elvis movies and vintage furniture.  Weird I know but it does.  Do you have any vintage pieces in that soft green?  This palette could take you all the way into fall if you don’t like change.

Pinkies Up

This refreshing photo via @whatIseephoto immediately cools me off.  For anyone wanting to soothe even the worst of sunburns, this is it.  I love how this combination is soft yet vibrant.  Possibly the best way to feel like you are rocking the day away on a summer porch.

Sweet Land of Liberty

I’ve heard that us Texas folks are way more proud of our flag and the good ol’ United States of America than the rest of the country.  Not going to dispute that because I know for this Texas girl, it’s true.  I think I could use red, white and blue hues in our home and not tire of it for quite some time.  It reminds me of being out on the lake, fishing, tubing, barbecue and outdoor concerts.  Yes, please!

Well have you seen some inspiration from these Summer color combinations?  Honestly, it makes me eager to get started on changing things up around here and definitely more enthusiastic about the future!

Happy Decorating Friends!

Well actually, what else is there to do but, change things around in your house and plant a vegetable garden and work in my flower beds. That is exactly what has kept me sane. I love your color combinations and i like the paler shades the best. Yes i am ready for a trip, where can we go?

I hear you Marlene – what else is there?! We are hoping to hit the road up to Montana in July. I’ve never been but hear “Glacier” is spectacular. Fingers crossed we don’t have to cancel last minute because everything is still closed. If we do, I suppose I’ll rearrange something else in my home. I won’t be planting a garden like you, that is for sure. Big hug.

All of these colors have me dreaming of summer vacation! I think the “hip hop” one is my favorite. Now I’m longing for the beach!

I know, right?! I’m so ready! And I agree, those greens with the white and yellow flower is so crisp, fresh and happy! Hope we can LL enjoy a vacation soon.

I love all of these colors! We are putting in a new pool, kitchen etc into our backyard and our color scheme is the Tranquil and Serene. The Clambake reminds me of all the “Beach Party Bingo” movies my mom used to watch when we were small. She’d load us up into the station wagon with soft drinks and a candy bar each and take us to the drive in movie every time they were showing. lol! What wonderful color palettes for any summer decor!

A new pool and kitchen sound exciting! I know with your love of color it will be amazing. And it sounds like we had the same great childhood. πŸ˜ƒ Good times, good times.
