Spring Decorating Looks and Where To Find Them

Spread the love

Howdy Friends!  We’ve had some beautiful Spring weather lately which put me in a perusing mood.  Thankfully, we have 3 of my favorite stores within 5 miles of the house.  So today I though I’d share with you a few Spring decorating looks and where to find them just in case you have further to travel.  I’m nice like that.  🙂

Spring Decorating Looks and Where To Find Them

We’ve seen shades of blue for a couple of years now and it’s been quite popular.  But this year, ever since Pantone announced their color of the year as Classic Blue, I see it everywhere.  So I was not surprised to see blue decor as soon as I walked into Kirkland’s, Hobby Lobby and Pier One.  All right there at the front.

Kirkland’s

There are several choices of blue pillows to choose from at Kirkland’s.  I liked the white floral (right side of photo above) because the color of our kitchen in the Highland Village home has bright blue walls and is open to the family room.  In order to marry the two rooms together, I try and mix blues in the family room and bring the same accents in both rooms.  Right now the accent is yellow which you’ll see in a later post.

KIrkland's pouf and lamps

If you need a pouf or maybe small accent lamps for a shelf or two, these came from Kirkland’s also.  I couldn’t pass up getting two small white lamps for our upstairs mantel.  If you sign up for their emails, you’ll get coupons all the time.  I used my 25% off coupon for all regular priced items and on my entire purchase!

If you want other accent colors, yellow and green will be a beautiful combination.  Botanical prints are still popular this year and work well with the blues too.  All the photos above are from Kirkland’s as well.

Hobby Lobby

two floral prints

I found some prints at Hobby Lobby that are large enough to make an impact but small enough to add touches of blue without going all-in or needing to change out your existing pieces.  I don’t like changing out everything just to make a statement in decorating.  Okay, that’s a lie,  I would and have but don’t usually.  For the people (95% of the people I know) that don’t live for decorating like I do, it’s better to add small amounts of accents here and there.

neutral baskets and vases

I recommend adding warm tones to your home decor if you are going to use a lot of blue.  Blue can be bright and happy during the sunny days but can seem gloomy on the not-so-sunny days.  Bringing in wood tones and warm creamy whites will help.  Vases, baskets, trays, bowls, and plant stands are all good ways to add warmth.

green vases and frames

Look at this collection of green.  I love it!  Adding this color in with the classic blues will make for a beautiful spring decorated room for sure!  If you don’t like adding faux plants to a room but want to add life.  This planty (is that a word?) green glass will do the trick!

Pier One

blue and white vases and florals

But if you are into faux flowers and plants, there are some pretty choices from Pier One.  They have a nice collection of vases too.  I actually purchased this pom pom pillow and this floral pillow for our white Lia Sofa.   I love how they look!  They both have great texture and I like blue and green mixed together.   I think they really help with the bright blue walls in the kitchen.  I bought the pillow sitting in the middle sometime last year on clearance so they don’t carry it anymore.  Sorry.

Well, there are a few Spring decorating looks and where to find them.  Of course you’ll find other colors to suit your home but now you can see some of the selection before you head out.  What colors will you choose to use this year?  Will it be blue?  Maybe pink and coral or yellow and mint?  You can’t go terribly wrong with any of the spring colors.  They all work so well together.  Like Easter eggs and Sunday bonnets.  🙂

Happy Spring Decorating Friends!

I don’t know what i will do but at least you have given me some ideas. I have been spending time in my flower beds getting them ready and planting some more flowers. I do love your pillows, thanks Cindy.

Great suggestions. I don’t shop Kirklands because it’s too far away but I might make an exception. I’m loving blues and white so any ideas are much appreciated.

Thanks Carol. I’ve never been a huge fan of the navy but the (classic) blues this year are so pretty!

This was such a cool post, Cindy! I felt like I was shopping right along with you. My Mom is always looking for blue and white finds but I bet she hasn’t thought about shopping at Kirklands. I can definitely tell they have a few things she would love. Thanks for the heads up, hugs, CoCo

Well, you know me (You do, don’t you?). I love all the green. As your dad always said “the color of money!” 😉 Everything on this post was so fun to look at! Glad you ‘fessed up about your penchant for changing things so regularly. The pillows on your couch look great.

Aw yes, the color of money. He did love that color. 😂. Glad you liked it all. Happy Spring to someone I barely know. 😬
