Howdy Peeps!  Have y’all made your Thanksgiving grocery list yet?  Did you go through the pantry and look in the freezer to see what you’ve got instead of spending more money on food you already have?  I did.  We have a bag of frozen corn that I’m pretty sure is about 3 years old and a sack of potatoes that won’t last another 2 weeks.  So it’s a full list for me.

The Mister and I were talking about ordering one of those pre-made smoked turkey’s and having it delivered.  Has anyone done that?  I’d love to hear about your experience and whether or not it’s a thumbs up or a don’t-waste-your-money kinda deal.

Having all that turkey talk made me think of the crowd of attendees we’ll have this year.  Then I started counting how many chairs we needed.  That made me remember “the kids table” that I never cared for which led to how nice it will be to have new family members mixed with the regulars.  Then I started wondering if the family would sit next to familiar faces or branch out and get to know someone they hadn’t talked to before.  Goodness gracious, that’s a lot of thinking – over thinking really!  But all that brings me to today’s post – Quick and Easy Place Card Ideas!

I found all of these ideas on my Pinterest Board.  There are some great ideas for the holiday’s on there.  If you’d like to follow along, click here.

If you decide to order a turkey get one from Burge’s turkeys of Lewisville, Arkansas. You will not be disappointed! Family business for years and they do great turkeys! I was a college friend of their daughter’s and have continued eating their turkeys for 40 plus years now.

Hahahaha Tammy! The kids table is more fun NOW only because we are older. 😜.

Okay…I LOVE all those ideas for place cards. Not sure how many we are going to have or IF we are going to be here. With my MIL’s recent surgery, we may be traveling to Alabama to see about her! BUT, if we are going to stay here, I’m definitely going to “borrow” one of these great ideas. We were considering ordering the cooked turkey as well from Brookshire’s, but I’ve not heard any reviews on it. Hmmm…. let me know if you find out anything! Love and hugs!

I think I’m going to use the leaf with the gold writing on the back. We have a Magnolia tree that will be perfect. I’ve heard there a couple of places that ship but not any grocery store reviews at all. We’ll most likely end up doing the same old thing. At least it’s yummy! Hope y’all and your MIL have a nice Thanksgiving.

Such cute ideas!! I don’t host Thanksgiving, but I do host Christmas! I normally don’t do assigned seating but perhaps this year I will – once I figure out how many guests I’ll have, that is!

    • November 12, 2018 / 11:31 am

This will be our first time to have assigned seating. I want the family to get out of their comfort zone and sit by someone new. We are usually a buffet-grab-n-go family. 😂. Happy Thanksgiving!

Cindy, thank you so much for the inspiration for name tags. All are so very cute. Now I am wondering which ones I want to use. I think the pre-smoked turkey is the way to go! I have a list a mile long also! Have a great day!

My pleasure Terrie! We have a Magnolia tree out back and I think using a gold pen on the back of the leaf would be perfect! Better get crackin’ on that list! Me too. :/ Hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving!
