Hello Beautiful Friends!  Summer arrived with a bang last week and this week it’s going to be h.o.t.  That lovely news got me to thinking about July 4th and what we were going to do this year which got me to thinking about the fun times we had last year.  I was going through some of my older posts on Patriotic decor (so that I don’t duplicate my decor) and found myself saying “oh, I remember that, so cute and awe, that was a fun idea.”  So I thought today’s post would be a round up of Patriotic Decor Inspiration and Ideas so your cheeks could hurt from all the smiling like mine did!  πŸ™‚

Patriotic Decor Inspiration and Ideas

With the whole pandemic ordeal I don’t know yet what we’ll be doing for July 4th.  Will you be ready to get out and about and maybe head to a safe distance firework display or will you have a few friends and family over to your home this year?  I suppose it could be both.  For us, I guess I best get on the ball.

This idea below was so fun because our HOA has a July 4th parade each year.  It was the perfect place to hang out and watch the kids go by with their bikes and little cars dressed up for Independence Day.  The post also has a Pinterest Challenge at the bottom so there are 16 extra great ideas included.

If you plan to stay home and entertain, you will probably need a drink or food station right?  I had one at the farmhouse a couple of years ago and it turned out super cute!  I even added vintage decor and coordinated the drinks!  LOL. You can see that post here.

Patriotic Front Porch

The Farmhouse porch is quite different from the suburban house porchette.  A few years ago someone mentioned to me that we should “listen” to our homes and decorate them accordingly.  I found it funny that the suburban house told me it wanted to be cheap and easy that year.  So I made sure to listen.  Ha!

Two more Easy Decor Ideas

This idea below is super easy and patriotic.  If you have a crock or pitcher with blue lines, simply add red ribbon and secure it with double sided sticky tape.  If you have a pitcher with nothing on it, add a multi-colored ribbon to it.  Then drop in a couple of flags and voila!  You now have an easy centerpiece worthy of celebration.

Last but not least is another super easy craft to have your patriotism stand out.  All I did was add red, white and blue Washi tape to plasticware and cut up 2 inch pieces of tissue paper to add to the ends of toothpicks.  Everyone noticed and thought it was an extra measure of festiveness!

If you decide to stay home I hope you add some easy patriotic decor even if it’s just you or two of you.  And if you entertain, I hope you go all out.  I know it would make you feel more patriotic!  We’ve been stuck at home too long and need a boost.  Actually, I think a cook-out sounds great as does homemade vanilla ice-cream!  Nothing fancy but seriously fun.

Happy Summer Celebration Friends!

Thanks i need to start thinking about what i will do. Whether i go or stay i still need to decorate a little just for me. I love putting out little flags and thinking how much they mean to me.

Yay! I’m so glad to hear Marlene that you’ll be decorating even if it’s just for you. Even when I know family won’t be coming over I still decorate. It keeps me in a more festive mood. Enjoy your red, white and blue!

      Hi Cindy

I remember your patriotic porch from last year, I love it still today.

You knock out of the park with patriotic touches.

So sweet of you to say Cindy, thank you! I have always loved red, white and blue. I think it goes back to seeing how my dad enjoyed wearing his bold flag shirt as he was driving the boat around and having a great time. I miss that grin of his.

I imagine here in Maine we are still staying home. Did the 2x/month grocery run this morning. Have a few RW&B things up but no vignettes. I did a patriotic vignette at my vintage/antique booth that I was very pleased with. May make myself a garland–I have had fun making them lately!

I wish I were in Maine to go to your vintage/antique booth Kathy! I know I’d find some fabulous goodies. Plus I bet your weather is sooooo much nicer than down here. Do you have an Etsy account? I’d love to see what you create. πŸ™‚

I try to make things fun around here so thank you bunches CoCo. I’m thinking to take it up a notch, maybe I should learn to play a horn?! Okay, maybe I’ll stick to a recorder. LOL Thanks for the pin too.

Nah, not that tech savvy. Make stuff for my booth, church and bazaar, gifts, and raffle items for a group I belong to (helps with fundraising). Also give my daughter some for her horse club.

Sounds like you are quite busy Kathy! I’ve wanted to have a small store to put my goodies into. Maybe one day.

As much as I love your patriotic decorations, the snack table caused me to pause. I was raised by a career Marine, and one things I was taught is to respect our flag. One of the flag etiquette rules is that the flag shouldn’t be displayed where it could be easily soiled. The snack table is a wonderful idea but patriotic fabric would be a better idea.

    • June 9, 2020 / 6:44 pm

I totally understand and if it were to become soiled, it would have been removed. I have nothing but respect and love for our flag. Thanks for the comment Karen, I truly appreciate it. ❀️

Love all of the vignettes! I’ve got a thing for red white and blue and proudly fly these colors!!!

    • June 9, 2020 / 10:04 pm

Yay Rachelle, me too! I wonder if other countries that have other less desirable color combos on their flags are as proud as we are to use them? Hmmm. Love red, white, blue, all it stands for and grateful for the sacrifices made as well. Thanks for your visit today!

Your front porch is always one of my favorites of your home. Your red and blue looks so peaceful and inviting. Love the two colors together. You gave me some inspiration to start decorating my porch for the upcoming holiday. Love all of your touches.

Such wonderful ideas – I really love them all. How fun that you get to watch the parade from your front yard!

    • June 14, 2020 / 10:41 am

Thank you Katerina. The parade always starts at the clubhouse which is at the end of the street so when they leave, they start up our street first. We do love it! We get to see all the little kids peddling their bikes with smiles because they aren’t hot and tired yet from all the hills. LOL!

What great little touches you have put together on your snack carts. I need to think about a meal plan, will it be BBQ or snacks. I’m starting to gather items throughout the house to start setting up american vignette around my house though. Vicki

Thank you Vicki. πŸ˜‰ I love the idea of setting up vignettes all around the house. In the past I only decorated the main room and porchette but thought this year I’d do at least a little flag in surprise spaces. Hope you have a wonderful time with whatever you choose!
