Howdy!  I don’t know how much you look at social media accounts but I follow several.  I’m not even sure I want to count them all.  But I’ve seen so many festive and beautiful Christmas photos this season that I wanted to share a few just in case you don’t get a chance to see them.  So in the spirit of Christmas decorating in a farmhouse style, feast your eyes on these five farmhouse accounts to inspire you.

Five Farmhouse Accounts to Inspire You

Thistlewood Farms laundry room entrance

Thistlewood Farms

First up is my sweet friend KariAnne from Thistlewood Farms.  She has such fun ideas on her blog.  Just look at this door.  You know those worn edges have a story.  And her small and elegant touches make this room very inviting.  From the wreath on the door to the basket on the island and the Christmas cloches on the counter, it all says come on in.  You can click on her name for the blog or here for her Instagram account.

Golden Boys and Me

Farmhouse decorating isn’t just about neutrals.  It’s also festive colors like you see here with Golden Boys and Me.  Courtney has such energetic style that you’ll be hooked the minute you check out her photos.  I’ve mentioned to her that Disney has nothing on her because to me her home seems to be the happiest place on earth!  I started following her on Instagram and was mesmerized by the first few squares.  Just look at all that wonderful color!  The lamps, the pillows, the gifts in the crate, all so fun.  Follow her Instagram here.

The Design Twins

This is Julie’s home from the blog The Design Twins.  She has a twin sister Jodi and they are both the most giving people you’ll ever meet.  They live in different states but every time you have a conversation with them it’s like they live right next door.  Julie is also a fan of farmhouse but as you can see her style is mixed.  She does a great job of showing you how to marry styles if you love a little of everything like me!  You can see from her entry that you want to sit a spell and get to know her better.  You can follow Julie on Instagram here and Jodie here.

Bridgeway Designs

Raise your hand if you want to soak in that tub with Christmas music on and just look around at all the decorations?  I’m raising both hands here and tapping my toes!  Bathrooms are usually not on the list of Christmas decor for most people but I hope by seeing this photo from BridgewayDesigns that you’ll change your mind.  Check out her Instagram account here.  You will get googly eyes and all kinds of inspiration.

Dabbling and Decorating

Dabbling and Decorating

Ann has charming style and with two homes to decorate, I don’t know how she keeps it together as well as she does.  I know what it’s like with two homes and most of the time, I’m pulling out my hair.  I look gawk at her photos and can see a Hallmark movie and Norman Rockwell all rolled up into one.  They are comforting and warm yet energetic and full of life.  You can follow along with her blog here and her IG account here.

Sometimes with all of the perfect houses and decor around us we feel pressured to measure up and wonder if our homes are as good as we see on Instagram or Pinterest.  Remember that we are all different, we all come from different stages in life and we all have our own styles and taste.  Social media is only for inspiration.  If you get overwhelmed or feel inadequate, stop scrolling and comparing.  I wrote a post called How To Love The Home You Have a while back when I was feeling less than.  You can check it out here if you’d like.  Merry Christmas friends and be inspired by your surroundings every day.

Happy Decorating Friends!

I love farmhouse style and that is the house I was personally looking for last fall, but couldn’t get Mr. Ethereal to commit… It would have been a way to have my French style and do country farmhouse at the same time. Guess I am personally swinging full-circle… 💕

Love the blogs you’ve featured and will check them out when I have some time.

    Happy hugs,
    Barb

If I could find a French farmhouse here in Highland Village, I’d snatch it up but sadly, there are none. Guess that means we do what we can with where we live. One day, this house will be finished just the way I like it. Then what do I do?! LOL
