Spread the love

Hello sweet friends, and welcome to Farmhouse Friday 417.  How’s it going?  Is it cool yet?  Not here.  Am I still acting like it is, yep.  Since the mister doesn’t read my blog, I’ll go ahead and mention that I came down to the farmhouse alone (he comes tomorrow) to get the dusty house ready for our guests this weekend.  I might have turned the radio up and the a/c waaaay down.  A girl needs some motivation while cleaning, right?  Yes, I do indeed.

If you missed my post earlier this week, click on the title below to read it.  I have several ideas on what to look for while shopping for fall decorations.  None are from a big box store, and they’ll look fabulous decade after decade.

Still in the 80’s here, and I live in Wisconsin! I’m beginning to think fall will never arrive. Thanks for the party.

I totally understand turning down the AC while doing major cleaning! I’m thankful that the weather is cooling here. We even have a drizzle of rain this morning! Have a blessed week, and enjoy your company!

That sounds nice Julie. I love a good rain. Lately, if we get one, it’s while we’re sleeping. I like to sit out on the porch and watch it. With a fan of course and with lots of mosquito spray on. :/ Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Back in Sept. 1962, I married the most wonderful man. Now after the reception, you would put on a nice “going away outfit” to start your honeymoon. Well, I thought the weather was going to be cool so I had purchased a cute wool suit. Now, no pun intended, but I couldn’t wait to get that outfit off because it was so hot the end of September! That marriage lasted 62 years until my hubby went to Heaven. The weather we have been having lately reminded me of that because I am also looking for cooler weather!! Blessings to all and for those you can, hug your hubby!

I can picture how hot you were even now in that honeymoon wool suit. Bless you! It’s funny how certain things bring up memories or experiences. I loved hearing that! And I will definitely go hug the hubby. I don’t give him enough of them. Thank you for the reminder.

Thanks for featuring my sunflower pumpkins, Cindy! We are having coolish mornings here that are pleasant enough that I can almost overlook the 90 degree afternoons! Have a great weekend!

    • October 3, 2025 / 1:58 pm

Hmmm, maybe that means I should try getting up earlier. Might put me in a better mood to put up with the afternoons. 😉 You are so welcome Cecilia. Love your link-ups.

My son was just complaining this morning, “It’s October! Why is it 85 degrees today?!” We’re in Colorado. And I’m always the same way turning the music way up when I’m by myself–especially cleaning! 🙂 Thank you for hosting this delightful party. I’m sharing 45, 46, and 47 today. Off now to see what others have shared. Happy Friday!

    • October 3, 2025 / 1:59 pm

LOL, I’m with your son. Thank you for linking up with us. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. And hopefully, it will feel like fall soon. I don’t want the weather to stay hot then drop and go straight into winter!

  7. October 3, 2025 / 2:16 pm

Thanks for another fun party Cindy. I appreciate the feature and I’m glad you enjoyed the pumpkin DIYs. The temps have dipped around here earlier than usual. Not complaining at all since I grew up in the North east and Fall is my favorite season. Enjoy your week. XO- MaryJo

Happy to feature your link friend and jealous of your dipping temps. Have a great week!

Rachel’s paper pumpkins – oh my gourd!

Still hot as Hades here, too. Hoping it changes this week with some much needed rain. I switched out my summer annuals for pansies, and I had to DRILL the ground to plant them, it’s so hard and dry. That was even after watering the ground. I hope those pansies don’t die. I almost did planting them.

    • October 5, 2025 / 5:14 pm

Just another reason I don’t like planting – the chance of death! Hope you have a great week Rita.
