I realize it’s not quite Thanksgiving, but I couldn’t wait to say Merry Christmas!  Today, I have 35 Virtual Holiday Home Tours to share.  A couple will have Thanksgiving in mind, but most will reveal their Christmas decor.  So grab a comfy seat and settle in.  It’s going to be aaahhhmazing!  I’ll start things off with ours – a classic Christmas home tour.

  A Classic Christmas Home Tour

Before I begin, I would like to thank Amy Sadler and Lynn Vogeler for hosting the tour this year.  Without them, we might not have had a tour, and that would have been so sad.  It’s a lot of work to get 35 bloggers on the same page and have everyone turn things in on time.  Make sure and stop by their blogs and give them two thumbs up and a pin.  I know they’d appreciate it.

When I decided how I wanted to decorate this year, I imposed three restrictions on myself.  One, to keep it simple and not go overboard.  Two, don’t break your back, and three, don’t buy anything new.

While pulling things out, I found myself tired of looking at much of it.  So much so that I might have alerted the family that I was only assembling one Christmas tree instead of six.  I guess I needed a nap and a Diet Coke because the next day, I put together four of the six trees. I also declared this would be the year of the bow.

7 black iron candlesticks with lit green candles and bows

As you scroll through the photos, I might have gone a bit overboard on the bows.  Now that I think about it, I bought a few rolls of ribbon too.  That’s not being successful.

gray checked chairs with two table sittin in between them and Christmas decorations as well

Since I was bored with the same ol’ decor, I made myself decorate a little differently.  Like the asymmetrical mantel.  That’s not me.  I also doubled up on the accent tables.

Have you ever sat in a chair only to realize you have to twist your body around to put your drink down?

white ceramic santa with small wreath, books, and two small trees

I don’t like that and think the two small tables look great sitting together.  They fix the issue, look cute, and it’s something I usually wouldn’t do.  I could say it’s my version of nesting tables.  Ha!

16 square cubbies with books, white ceramic houses and trees for Christmas

I also wouldn’t redo most of the cubby shelf for Christmas.  But for you, I went the extra mile this year.  I even dragged out the big ladder to redo the items above it.  You should feel special.  😉

I was also talked into doing something outside my comfort zone by adding wine colored bows to the candles on the mantel.  I feel like that’s all you see when you walk in.

5 candles on a mantel with red bows and garland

In the beginning, I had done all 10 candles, and that was way too much for me.  Imagine 10 streamers hanging at eye level.  Now imagine that times two!  Both sides were done.  Yes, it’s the year of the bow, but not that many!  I would have enjoyed them more with black or green ribbon.

Silver accents are a must for me at Christmas.  Silver trees, tea sets or trays, vintage candy dishes, ornaments, cream and sugar sets, and even silver casserole lids.

Do you have something you absolutely have to add at Christmas?

Seeing Christmas trees all decked out in their finest makes me smile.  Not that I ever truly go all out.  LOL.  I prefer a bare or minimally decorated tree at our house.  And with so much red going on in the dining room, I opted for a single bow on top of the tree.

Well that’s our classic Christmas home tour of the living room and dining room.  I’m hoping to share the kitchen and breakfast area next week.  Maybe I’ll even get to our bedroom.  Now that would truly be a Christmas miracle!  Merry Christmas, friends.  Now it’s time to sit back and check out the rest of the tours.  Enjoy!

Clever idea, those two side tables. Love your Christmas decor and those beautiful ribbons. That duck was so cute and that Christmas tree with only the ribbon was so pretty, I honestly like less than loaded on Chritmas trees. Happy Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas.

    • November 21, 2025 / 12:56 pm

Thank you Marlene. I thought people would think I was being ridiculous on the double side tables together but, since when do I listen to “them”? LOL. And I’m with you on the less than loaded Christmas trees. Hope your holiday season is filled with blessings. Big hugs, friend.

I love the asymmetrical mantel, and the set of side tables-brilliant! Now I can use more of my vintage stash of tables at the same time;) Your color combo of black, green and white is one of my favorites; so soothing. So glad you went all out with the trees; loved your tour!

    • November 21, 2025 / 12:58 pm

I really appreciate the comment on the set of side tables Lora. I thought I was going to get some very Negative Nelly’s on that. And I can’t believe I actually inspired YOU – the queen of cuteness. Thanks so much.

Cindy, I’ve followed several of the home tours on this week’s party and yes, it’s a big deal organizing this many. Your styling this year is amazing. Love, love, love the naked tree with ribbon.. My husband & I have discussed doing that with ours this year. Another thing I love is your version of nesting tables. That looks perfect and yes, it’s a pain to have to twist and place/retrieve a glass or mug. And the cubby shelf is a favorite of mine. Love your newest styling, and the print hanging on its frame. All your silver accents look especially handsome with the green and black.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving, having all the decorating completed.

You’d think I’d have everything done by now (I’m not Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home – and always my fave tour btw) but I’m still mulling over what the super long (11 people) Thanksgiving table will look like. I want the people closer to the end of the table to feel just as special. You’re the queen of tablescapes, what do you think? Maybe just garlands down the middle with candles and fruit? Feel free to help a sista out. 😉 And thank you for the nice compliment. This time of year I feel very inadequate. I think it’s scrolling on IG looking at all of the overachievers. :/

  8. November 21, 2025 / 7:46 pm

Cindy we always think a like and you crack me up! I said all the same things this year and I am not very successful so far! I am cutting myself off (after I go thrifting in the morning!)

I love all of your classic touches and the two tables look so cute and creative. I also love all of your simple trees and bows. Everything is looking so pretty for Christmas and I can’t wait to see more throughout the season. But don’t break your back for blogging purposes. I have already done that for you!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    • November 24, 2025 / 11:09 am

Oh my!~ If you say we think alike then that’s quite the compliment! Now if I could just find the same kind of treasures and decorate like you, I’d be set! Hope your Thanksgiving is restful and full of joy – and a gluten free dessert! 😉

Your home looks festive and beautiful! I love that you challenged yourself… and I don’t think ribbon counts bc it’s a supply 😉 Love the bows, your simple tree and that little/ large cubby decorated with the white holiday pieces! Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving!

    • November 24, 2025 / 11:16 am

I hadn’t thought of ribbon being a supply! Woohoo! Now I feel better. The cubby shelf is always fun to play with. Probably like the little shelf I saw you decorating today on IG. Sooo cute! Thanks bunches Cindy. Happy Thanksgiving!

Yay I love the year of the bow theme! I always think I’m going overboard too, but hey it’s just ribbon! Your mantel arrangement looks so beautiful, and I love how you changed things up this year. The little side tables together look so smart, and your cubby shelf with the trees, houses and artwork looks gorgeous! Give yourself a pat on the back it all looks fantastic! Merry Christmas Cindy!

    Cindy,

I love all the pretty ribbon, It feels so festive! The naked tree is a favorite also. I think I love the glow of Christmas lights so much I could leave a naked tree up year round. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving my friend and Merry Christmas!

    • November 25, 2025 / 2:18 pm

I feel the same about the tree being up all year round. I think I would but am afraid of the dust it would collect. How in the world would we get that off? lol. Thank you so much for the visit. Merry Christmas and Happy Thanksgiving!
