Have you ever gotten to a point in your life when you look around your home (and possibly the closets) and think, I have enough decor? I feel I could be in such a predicament. I look forward to wandering around an antique store, but it’s getting harder to justify what I bring home. A long time ago, if I didn’t already have a spot for an item, I wouldn’t buy it. Nowadays, I am the first to hold up my hand and say – if you love it, you’ll find a place for it.
My Collected Home Sale and New Adventure
A few of the pieces I will share with you!
However, lately I’ve been having a hard time finding spots and storage! I don’t want to give up antique shopping. It’s a beloved hobby. But on more than a few occasions, the Mister has mentioned the wall-to-wall furniture. Obviously, he is mistaken in what he claims to have seen. ๐
Silver-plated casserole dish stand.
So, I came up with a plan that I think will help us all. I am going to write a post highlighting (and pricing) a super cute item and share ideas on how you can use it in your home. If it’s something you’d love to add to your collection, let me know, and I’ll personally ship it to you (within the U.S.). Some items will be new-to-me finds that were a good deal, and some will come straight from my own home (and still a good deal!). You might even already own a few of the pieces I share. If that’s the case, hopefully you’ll discover a fresh idea for styling them!
I’m going to call it My Collected Home Sale.
What do you think it was originally?
If you think about it, it’s a win-win situation really. I’ll be able to reduce my ever-growing collection, add a fun post to the blog, keep shopping, and most importantly, continue to find unique pieces to share with my decor-loving companions. My friend says I’m indulging my habit. LOL. She knows me well.
This will be handy and pretty!
I still believe decorating a home is a personal journey and should take years to curate. But I’m hoping to help some of you get there a little faster.
This will work with just about any style.
I’m planning on one post and one item each week. Life may get in the way, but that’s the goal. The pieces will be reasonably priced, and fingers crossed that, if they are from my own home, I remember how much I paid for them.
Where do you think she’s from?
All you need to do is comment that you’d like to purchase it. The first person to comment that they want it will get first dibs. We will exchange payment and shipping details, and that’s it. If you aren’t the first to claim it, comment anyway – you never know what might happen.
Oh, the possibilities!
What do you think? The only downside I see is that I may want to keep everything that I find.
Would you buy a piece from me if I shared ideas on how to use it in your home? Let me know in the comments! Thank you, friends. See you again soon!

We live in Plano ๐ and have family in Justin…drive through Highland Village to get there so there’s that (meaning no shipping!!). I might buy and the “might” is simply because I’ve done a pretty darn good job of downsizing and getting rid of stuff over the years. But, I’m always on the lookout for things I love!

Oh my goodness, Jane! Someday, we need to meet for lunch or coffee! Thanks so much for the comment and the visit!
Hi, there! A loyal reader of your site! I am an expert thrift item shopper, but if I see something on your site that is well-priced (in my eyes!), I would get it. Then there’s the cost of shipping (ugh!) So, that needs to be ironed out. I would have to totally be in love with the item!

Great to hear your thoughts! I had the same thought as well. Thankfully, a lot of our pieces here in TX are less expensive than most states. And I only plan to share small, easily shipped items. Thank you Sandra!
That sounds like a wonderful idea! I didnโt realize you were pretty close to my area. I live in Caddo Mills. If I happen to see something, I could just drive to Dallas and pick it up!๐

I’d love that Susan! What a treat to be able to meet you in person!
I’m always looking for something I can’t live without. I know you have some great pieces and this seems exciting, I’m ready to enjoy seeing what you have, fun fun!!!

Marlene, you and I sound like two peas in a pod – always looking for something we can’t live without. And maybe a few more things too. LOL!
I have 3 extra of the silverplated casserole dishes I donโt need. Iโd love to get rid of them. You have a great idea I hope it works out. I want to go antiquing with you!!

Well, come on, girlfriend! Although it will have to be later in the year. I can’t bring myself to go during the summer. It’s way too hot in those old buildings.
Sounds like a great idea. Looking forward to seeing what you have. Iโm a native of McKinney and love going to our local antique mall and the Vintage Market.

Thank you Cindy. One of my favorite places to shop is the Antique Mall on McKinney Square. I’ve found many treasures there over the years. Do you think the prices there have gone up quite a bit? I do. But honestly, what hasn’t gone up quite a bit? :/
Sounds like a great plan. I look forward to seeing the things that you post. We have very similar taste in decor and I feel confident I will see some things I need. Haha

Yay, thank you Melinda. I hope you do too! But lately, my tastes have changed a bit. lol
Iโd like to buy the silver casserole stand, the long skinny china dish with flowers on it and the bamboo plant stand/birdcages thing. I love this idea and think it will be super fun.

Well that’s encouraging! I’ll post the first piece next week. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for the comment!
Great idea, Cindy. I can’t begin to tell you how much I purged last year while preparing to move into a much smaller home. Even though I’m still sending things out the door, I can’t resist a good estate sale! I’ll be checking in to see what you’re moving out the door!

I love estate sales too Ann. I’ve mentioned to my kids that when I go on to be with the Lord, our estates sale will be amazing. They just look at me and say to get rid of it now. LOL.
LOVE this adventure! I want that casserole holder. You won’t even have to ship it. ๐

I am excited about it. Mostly because it will force me to blog and will open up space for more fun treasures. ๐ Thanks Laura!
It sounds like you’ve found the perfect way to indulge a fun habit! My mom passed away 5 years ago this month and I am still trying to find new homes for the treasures she collected over the years. Of course, I kept some favorites but I also love to collect and, just like you, I’m at the stage where I’m not sure where to put new to me pieces! Somehow it doesn’t stop the search! LOL! I’ll look forward to your new adventure!

When my MIL passed away, we were a bit overwhelmed by ALL the things. We let so much go that I wish now I would have kept. It’s good that you are taking your time. Thank you Laura for the encouragement. Happy Friday!
Canโt wait to see what you are willing to part with! Also trying to downsize and be good BUTโฆ

This all started because I wanted to clear out the attic. Well, the attic has more room, but a lot if it found places inside the house. LOL! Thank you Carlie. You’ve made me smile.
Oh my gosh, I’m right there with you!! I live in a 1920s beach cottage and filled it to the brim years ago, but it doesn’t stop me from hunting for treasures and bringing them home. I’ve been thinking about doing the same thing, but then I just end up donating things back to the shops! Haha! Can’t wait to see what you share…this could be dangerous! ๐

So glad to hear I’m not the only one! I laughed when you said you just donated it back to the shops. At least you do that; I can’t seem to get rid of it. I love it all too much! LOL. Thank you Kim. ๐
