Hello my wonderful friends!  It’s time for the bi-monthly Lifestyle of Love Hop.  This month there’s only 3 of us but that’s okay, they are super talented and you’ll still some great ideas for using ladders in your decor.  The other bloggers that usually join in didn’t have a ladder.  I could hardly believe it.  I hope once everyone see’s the great ideas they’ll want to find one. Anyway, let’s get started with my 3 fun ways to decorate a ladder for Christmas.Lifestyle of Love graphic3 FUN WAYS TO DECORATE A LADDER FOR CHRISTMAS

You know I’m into old stuff.  So when you look at my “ladder” you’ll notice it’s not actually a ladder.  I’m not sure what it is but I found it years ago in a little junk shop and thought – Hmmm, I could use that for a decorative ladder.  And for $8.00 it was mine.  I asked the lady who checked me out what she thought it was and she had no clue either.  The only thing I could think of was maybe a side rail on an old baby bed?  It used to be dark brown.  Any ideas?

Well whatever it is, I enjoy it.  It usually holds blankets up in one of the kids rooms but look at how cute it is as a Christmas card holder!  For some reason we don’t get many Christmas cards.  Maybe we don’t have nice friends?  Maybe the ones we do have don’t like us enough to spend the postage?  Or maybe they don’t want to dress up the kids and hubby only to be disappointed in the outcome of the photography session?  LOL.  Well, whatever the reason, these cards look perfect hanging up there.

To use a ladder as a Christmas card holder, all you need is ribbon and tiny clothespins.  If you don’t want to use the little clothespins, you can also punch a hole in the cards and string the ribbon through or use paper clips as well.  Twine is also a good choice for stringing the cards.  I decorated the top with extra faux stems for added pizazz.

Some times people don’t have a mantel or a place to hang stockings.  And sometimes people have mantels but they don’t want to hammer nails in it because they have a lot of stockings to hang and don’t want to turn their mantel into swiss cheese.  I get it.  That’s why this idea is perfect for situations like that.  I know, I’m a genius.

If you don’t have stockings that tie, you can use “S” hooks or even shower curtain rings.  If they are cute of course.  And if you don’t have many stockings to hang and want to make it look more Christmasy, add garland.  This garland has a battery pack for the lights and comes with a timer.  I attached it by twisting stems together around a couple of rungs.

This fun idea is perfect for anyone that doesn’t have room for a full size tree in their home!  I love how this one turned out and because it’s practically flat, I could place it just about anywhere.  Even hang it on the back of a door if necessary.  And it wouldn’t be hard to add lights.

All you have to do is choose several stems you love and wire them on the rungs in the shape of a tree.  In all honesty, I should have started one rung higher and added another row at the bottom.  But by the time I finished my helper was over it and I had already redone it twice before.  You just can’t get good help these days.  But a helper does make it go quicker.  You could add ornaments too if you really want it to look like a Christmas tree!  So cute.

Don’t you like a good repurposed project?  Me too.  Now you’ve seen 3 fun ways to decorate a ladder for Christmas which is definitely a repurposed project.

What an interesting piece. I immediately thought baby bed or crib. But it’s perfect where you have it! Such a cute idea for a “flat” Christmas tree. I agree about cards. I used to send out tons of them with a long Christmas letter. I think we’ve all just gotten out of the habit, plus the crazy high cost of postage. I’m pretty boring right now, haha. Thanks for putting this Hop together, Cindy. Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you Debra. I think now days more people are sending them via email which isn’t as fun. But at least we’re on the receiving list! πŸ˜‰

My house is a disaster Lora! Fall all of the dining table ready to be put away, furniture blocking walkways, Christmas stuff in some places but not at all close to being done. Hope to get it finished this weekend. But if something more fun pops up, I’m leaving it. πŸ˜‰

I don’t care what it is you are so creative you found a way to use and so cutely,[ I’m not sure that’s a word] but it works and it is clever. I’ve pinned it.

Does have a look of a cot side but I love what you did with it, so many ideas and so festive, as for cards I make them but don’t send out half of what I did once, sadly. Thanks for a lovely post.xx
