FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 312!

Howdy Folks!  Welcome to Farmhouse Friday 312.  Around here, kids are going back to school next week and not all kids will be excited.  So, to help start their day off on a happy note, here are 5 jokes you can tell the kids or grandkids on their first day back.

  1. Why did the M&M go to school?  He wanted to be a Smartie.
  2. Where do writing utensils go on vacation?  Pencil-vania.
  3. What does a thesaurus eat for breakfast?  A synonym roll.
  4. Why can’t a nose be 12 inches long?  Because then it would be a foot.
  5. What do loggers eat in the forest?  Mac and trees.

Hope that gives them at least one smile or at least an eye-roll and an oh, geez.  😉

Let’s go ahead and check out this weeks features from Farmhouse Friday 311.

black dining chair with crayon painted back Niky from The House on Silverado did a great job with this whimsical chair.  How cute would this be at a desk?!  Or the best time-out chair?!  LOL.  She makes it look easy so give it a try.

pencil vase with red flowersI know a few teachers that would love getting this pencil vase as a gift and Sarah at Must Have Mom gives out the details on her blog.  Think of all the things they could do with it!

bright colored snack lunchesWhat kid wouldn’t want these yummies for lunch?  Especially with flower shaped sandwiches!  Kristy at Mommy Hates Cooking shares some fantastic back-to-school ideas to make your life easier.  I want to be a kid!

whiskey ball on dotted plate and cinnamon in jarHere’s one for the adults!  Layne from Spaceships & Laser Beams says these are a “unique and sweet snack to accompany a nightcap”.  You just might need one of these after the first week of school is over.  LOL!

When I was a kid we didn’t start until after Labor Day as well. I think having to go back so early stinks! They don’t get out early for summer either. And now they get even less holidays. Happy Summer Debbie.

    • August 11, 2023 / 2:31 pm

Yay! I was hoping someone out there would like them. The hubs just gives me a blank look. I prefer to believe it’s because he doesn’t get the jokes. 😉 Please tell Ryker he’s awesome!

Thanks for the party Cindy. Love the back to school funnies. Gave me a chuckle. Schools around here started yesterday. My kids are both in college so really didn’t affect me except the traffic. I am SO ready for fall….slowly. XO- MaryJo

Girl, I’m ready for fall too! Looking forward to our trip to WY next week. It’s high of 90 and in the 50’s at night! It hasn’t gotten below 88 here at night in a long while. That just keeps everything so hot. We can literally fry an egg on the streets. Bleh. Have a great week and thank you for linking up.

Happy to do it Michelle. I never did like Smarties and I remember it being a popular candy for Halloween when I was a kid. Give me some Mounds or Payday and I’m good. Hope you have a great week.
