Spread the love

Well, hello there!  Thank you for visiting Farmhouse Friday 451.  How is summer going for you?  Going on a vacation?  Maybe having a staycation instead?  What have you been up to?!

Since I didn’t have a theme last week, we’ll have candle/lantern features today.  As for this week’s theme, it will be Christmas in July!  I myself, can’t drag anything out that is Christmassy.  Because ain’t nobody want to get up in our stifling hot attic this time of year.  But if you are so inclined or even have a great idea from last year, post it!

If you missed my last post, check it out.  It was a Lifestyle of Love hop with a few of my blogging buddies.  We discussed Kitchen Storage.  I’d love to hear what you do for storage in your own kitchen.  Okay, let’s get to it.

Cindy, thank you for featuring my post about using lanterns. They are a wonderful decorative accessory. And, yes, no one is getting in the attic anytime soon.

Your kitchen storage solutions in the other post were beautiful. However we downsized from 5200 sf (1 story) to 1350 sf, and our kitchen is about the size of the island in our old kitchen ~ and no walk-in huge pantry (or butler’s pantry) anymore. So every square inch has to be utilized, even if it isn’t “picture perfect”. I now put all dry beans, pasta & tea bags in glass containers on top of the refrigerator and posted a photo of that. To go with your “Christmas in July” request, I also do NOT want to see actual Christmas stuff now 5 months early! I don’t like earth tones, so don’t want to decorate with Fall stuff ~ but y’all don’t see me posting pretty pastels for Easter 5 months early in November! … What I did post though, are the Coconut Ice Cream Snowballs that my mom would make in the ’50s. She’d pipe leaves & a red flower and stick a little candle on top for Christmas dinner, but also put a bunch of the plain coconut snowballs into the freezer, and then take them out for me and my friends in the Summer! ** Catch y’all again next week!

The snowballs sound fabulous and what a sweet mom to save some for summer. I also get the storage situation. We do what we need to do. Looking forward to seeing your post. Hope you have a great weekend and thank you so much for linking up.
