With our weather being so beautiful, I’ve got spring decorating on the brain. I’m itching to do a few things to our outdoor spaces before it gets too hot. I began glancing through some of my Pinterest Boards and came across a few pins I thought I’d share with you. So, check out these 5 charming outdoor ideas for spring or summer.
5 Charming Outdoor Ideas For Spring or Summer!
Teacup Herb Garden
Anything vintage is right up my alley, so when I saw these tea cups with herbs planted inside, I said – I could do that! I don’t think it would be that difficult. From what I can tell, all you’d need is to drill a hole in the bottom of the cup for drainage. Then drill a few holes in the plastic pot to hold the chain. And lastly, glue the pot inside the teacup. Voila, the cutest herbs on the planet.

Every year, I truly intend to lean an old bike up against one of our trees. I always think it will be the cutest thing on our street or for anyone coming up the driveway. Fingers crossed, this is my year. I have an old basket and an old tote bag to hang on the handlebars. All I’d need were some outdoor plants to pop inside. Wouldn’t that be easy?!

If this doesn’t make you want to put your pinkies up, I don’t know what will. It makes me want to put on a cute dress and maybe even a hat. No hole needed for this sweet setup. Just a beautiful tablecloth, an umbrella, and some vintage dishes. I’m in – all the way in!
Better Homes and Garden
A seating area would look amazing under a tree with a handmade chandelier full of flowers and candles! Whether this is a daytime or nighttime activity, this is my kind of spring or summer girly-gab pastime.

I have an old rusty tea kettle, so this really speaks to me. What a fun idea to plant flowers inside and use them to create beauty in a garden, by a window, or at the mailbox?! Actually, it would look great on one of the shepherd’s hooks we have by the porch.
County Road 407
Speaking of a porch, who wants to hang with me here on our country porch? I decorate this porch every time I visit. It could be for 3 days or 3 weeks. But no matter what, it’s a relaxing place. The porch would look a lot different without the curtains. Would you guess the curtains aren’t made of cloth? They are plastic rectangle tablecloths from Dollar Tree. The entire porch costs $6. And at the end of the season, I simply throw them away or reuse them somehow.
There’s been a lot of giggling and carrying on out there. Maybe one day we’ll meet in person, and you can come for a visit? I’ll have the lemonade and tea ready. You bring the pie.
Did you find these 5 charming outdoor ideas for spring or summer inspirational? I hope so. If I get around to any of them, I’ll make sure to post a photo on Instagram. Happy Spring!

Aww, you made my day Lorri, thank you. Thank you for sharing that! It’s hard to get to know someone these days if you aren’t running in the same social circles. Shangra La – with a name like that, your backyard must be amazing! I’m jealous. Right now (since the slab leak), ours looks terrible. Half of it is weeds and the part where they piled up the dirt is dead.
Congrats to the new high-schooler! I remember being so excited and terrified at the same time. But most importantly, the outfit had to be perfect. Not too casual and I couldn’t look like I really tried. LOL. Oh how our perspectives have changed. ๐
Your porch at the farmhouse is lovely! It would be nice to meet out there and have tea and pie. ๐ Really love the teacups hanging on a fence and the old tea kettle as a flower planter. Fun ideas for decorating out in the garden!!!
Happy Sunday,

I would be over the moon excited if you wanted to come visit me in Navasota! You’d want to come in the fall though. It’s quite muggy. And I hope you use the tea kettle and tea cup ideas in your fabulous backyard garden. I can’t think of a better place for them! Thanks bunches Barbara.
What do you mean you decorate your porch every time you visit??/ Is this not your home? Lovely idea with tablecloth curtains. What I am very curious about is the chandelier on the ceiling??

Hi Vicky. Our everyday home is in the Dallas, TX area. The farmhouse is about 3.5 hours south of there in Navasota, TX. I prefer to be at the farmhouse during the spring and fall. Winter would be fine too but the Mister freezes. So, when I do get down there, I clean the porch every time and decorate it for the short time we’re there. It’s worth the labor to me.
The light fixture is an old piece of metal I’ve had for decades. There was a tired old ceiling fan there before and because the ceiling is so low on the porch, I thought the metal piece with Christmas lights strung around it would work. It’s perfect up there.
Thanks so much for the visit and the questions! I love it. ๐
