Spread the love

Happy New Year friends!  I feel like it’s been a month-of-Sundays since I’ve even looked at my computer.  Honestly, the amount of unread emails is horrifying.  If you sent me an email and haven’t heard back from me, please send it again.  I think I’m just going to delete them all (there are hundreds) and suffer the consequences.  Hopefully I didn’t win something and only have 2 weeks to reply.

All that said, I’m eager and excited to get things rolling again!

Welcome to Farmhouse Friday 429!  I hope your new year is off to a great start.  Jan. 5th we started a major bathroom renovation!  Y’all, it’s been needing it for years.  Decades.  This house was built in 2000 and when we moved in it looked like it was from the 90’s.

Seriously.  I think the previous owners decided they liked the ceiling fans and light fixtures and replaced them with some from their grandma’s house.  I love most things from grandma but it’s time for a change.  I don’t want to sound like I’m grumbling or ungrateful.  I am very grateful for all the Lord has done for us.  I’ll share the before and afters when it’s complete.  It’s so exciting!

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 429

Since we are beginning a new year, we are also beginning a new way of doing features.  You can still link all of your amazing ideas and posts, but if you have one that pertains to the theme for the week, you will have a chance to be featured!

I will announce the theme the week before.  I’m laughing on the inside because I know many visitors don’t read the paragraphs at the beginning.  Sadly, that means some people may never get featured.  I truly hope that is not the case.  I love seeing everyone’s creativity and enjoy perusing and choosing a few of the gems.

Please make sure your images are in a jpeg or png format. If I’m unable to save your image, I probably can’t feature your post and that’s not exciting at all.  But I get it.  It’s the world we live in and you have to protect your hard work.  Okay, enough of that boring chat.  Let’s get to linkin’ up!

The theme for next week is ALL THINGS WINTER.  It can be a winter vignette, a winter blanket you crocheted, a winter outfit, a winter tablescape or even your favorite winter recipe or diy.  I’m sure you’ll have something.  But if you can’t find one, please don’t let that stop you from linking up.  Like I mentioned already, I love participating in your lives and seeing your creativity.  I think many of us do!  I see this new way of doing things to be much like a group blog hop!  What do you think?

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 429 PARTY GUIDELINES:

  • Your style does not have to be farmhouse, nor do you have to live in a farmhouse to link up.  However, it would be nice to see – Home DIY and Décor ~ Gardening ~ Crafts and Sewing ~ Recipes ~ Homesteading.
  • It doesn’t matter how old your post is; please link your posts only once.
  • The party runs 6 AM CST on Friday and ends at 11:59 PM CST on Monday.
  • I don’t require a link back to this party, but if you do, thanks!  That’s mighty nice of you.
  • A Link Party is a great way to grow your blog, so please don’t post and run.  Show some love by visiting and pinning (from the original post) what you find interesting.
  • Try and link up something that pertains to the weekly theme!
  • By linking a post with the weekly theme, you have a chance to be featured here at next week’s party, which includes the Farmhouse Friday board on Pinterest
  • When linking to this party, you are permitting us to share your posts and pictures via social media and as features, roundups, etc., with a link back to your post or a link back to this party on the week your post is featured.
  • Thank you, friends.  I can hardly wait to see what you’ve been up to!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Seems like a slow start around here. Surely something soon will get my rear in gear! Thank you Carol. BTW, you can post whatever you want. You don’t have to restrict yourself to the theme. 🙂

Happy New Year Cindy! Excited to see your bathroom reno!!

    • January 12, 2026 / 8:58 am

It’s so dusty around here, I can’t imagine what it will be like if we ever do the tile floors in the rest of the house! Yikes. Hope you have a great week. Thanks!

Happy New Year, Cindy! We, too, are starting bathroom renovations later this month! After living in our home for 30+ years, it’s time…. (our pink tile is retro chic but I’m beyond ready to say “bye-bye”! Good luck with your project! Can’t wait to see the before and after! The themed parties sound fun! I love a good theme!

    • January 12, 2026 / 9:02 am

Thank you Laura. I love a good theme too but I think some people are confused and think they can only add their link if it’s within the theme. Hopefully, they’ll see other posts and link up whatever they like. Have a great week. BTW, all I can say for a bathroom renovation is air-purifiers and cover EVERYTHING in plastic! The plastic blocking the door to the bedroom acts like a screen door. :/ It’s soooo dusty!

I like your idea for future link parties, Cindy. Good luck with the bathroom remodel. When we did ours in 2017, it was an 11 week process; however, we flipped the floor plan and took it down to the studs. I still have PTSD. I hope your results overwhelm any anxieties you may experience in yours.

    • January 12, 2026 / 9:10 am

Thanks for the encouragement on the link party/theme idea. I think a lot of people are confused. 🙁 I laughed out loud at the PTSD then thought oh my, please no! I can’t believe the amount of dust throughout the entire house after one week. And we’re just sucking it all in! We purchased extra air-purifier filters but they continue to scream at us. Hoping ours is only a 3 week project. I cannot fathom 11 weeks! Did you post about it? I need to search your site to see the beauty. Happy Monday!
