Farmhouse Friday 414

Spread the love

Happy September, friends.  Thank you for joining me on Farmhouse Friday 414.  Are the leaves beginning to turn where you live?  We’ve had cooler days, but we won’t see any leaves changing for a while.  During our trip a couple of weeks ago, we were excited to see several trees already turning in MI and KY.  All I can say about that is, I’m jealous.

Even though we celebrated our anniversary on the 5th, it’s still my birthday month, and I always squeeze the most out of the other 29 days.  That’s my way of telling you I’m on a girls’ trip this week and I had no chance to write a second post. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And speaking of birthdays, my favorite dessert is white (almond) wedding cake.  If I were stuck on an island and had to eat one thing everyday, it would be that cake.  If the powers that be made me choose something to prolong my life, it wouldn’t be steak, although that’s what I’d prefer, it would have to be tacos.  Why tacos?  Because they are crunchy, have meat, veggies, and dairy.  Do you think I’ve given that way too much thought?  Possibly.

So, in honor of my birthday month, I’m sharing a fabulous older post.  I turned a boring store-bought cake into a harvest hit!  That means it’s perfect for fall, parties, sad days, just because days, funerals, and even potluck dinners!  Check out how I did it here or click the link above.  And beware, when you serve it, everyone will think you’re so talented and quite possibly want to pay you to make one for them.  Just sayin’.

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 414

This weeks feature theme is Fall Tablescapes.  Let’s get started and be inspired!

plaid tablecloth with gold, blue, copper and yellow plates and silverware on tableRita from Panoply created an early fall tablescape with sunflowers and lots of color.  Pop in and check out the entire table.  It will definitely ignite the coming of fall.

leafy table runner with green glass, a candle and finch sitting on a table settingI think the color green is a neutral and has a shade that goes with everything.  So when I saw Sandra’s post on Dinner at Eight, I thought it looked lovely!  Hop on over and see how she worked her magic.  And don’t forget to pin it!

green and orange tablescape with scarecrow centerpiece and gold glassesBeth, over at Whispers of the Heart, created a sweet tablescape with scarecrows and coordinating colors.  She’s been waiting years to do this, so check out her new pieces.  It’ll give you fun vibes and possibly a hayride hankering.

yellow placemat with two floral antique plates with gold and silver flatware on a red floral tableclothAnything that involves vintage dishes, and I’m all in.  The beautiful mix from Lynne at Thrifting Wonderland was quite lovely.  You’ll want to scoot over and see her full welcoming fall table.  So pretty.
