Hello fraaands! We are back from vacation, and I must say, the weather in Michigan was amazing, and the day spent on Mackinac Island was fantabulous! I really enjoyed touring the island and learning how things run. The horse-drawn carriage carrying the UPS and FedEx packages was funny. That’s something you don’t see every day! We flew into KY and made a road trip out of it. I brought home several antique finds and will share them as I can. I’ll say this – if you live in KY or OH, then you are lucky ducks. Our antiques are more expensive down here in TX and just not as exciting.

There have been two posts since we chatted last. If you missed them, I’d love for you to comment on one or both. I really enjoy reading your comments. 🙂

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 412
As I was perusing the links this week and because I’m hungry, I came across 4 recipes I’d never heard of before. So, this weeks feature theme is called Cindy lives in a hole and needs to get out more. 😉
The photo is deceiving. It looks like an ordinary yellow cake mix but it’s not. It’s an Angel Food/Pineapple Cake by Raquel. Say whaaat?! That sounds like a great combo to me! Pop over to Organized Island and pin it!
I am a cake connoisseur but have never had (or heard of) apple cobbler cake before. When looking at the recipe, I realized it was easy and something even this not-so-great cook/baker to do! Bring on the fall with this one! Thank you Gina at Yummi Haus for sharing this with us.
Have you ever heard of a chocolate chip cheese ball? I have not but it sounds pretty tasty. And the fact you serve it with Teddy Grahams, graham crackers or bagels (to name a few), sounds even better! Check it out on Home with Grace and Joy by Susan to get the recipe.
I’ve heard of other things mixed with lavender but when Amy from The Copper Table mentioned lavender and blackberry together, I was all in. Just look at that cheesecake! Sounds perfect for a ladies shmancy luncheon.

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 412 PARTY GUIDELINES:
- Your style does not have to be farmhouse, nor do you have to live in a farmhouse to link up. We’d like to see linkups like: Home DIY and Décor ~ Gardening ~ Crafts and Sewing ~ Recipes ~ Homesteading.
- It doesn’t matter how old your post is, please link your posts only once.
- The party runs from 6 AM, CST on Friday and ends at 11:59 PM, CST on Monday.
- We aren’t requiring a link back to this party but if you do, thanks! That’s mighty nice of you.
- A Link Party is a great way to grow your blog so please don’t post and run. Show some love by visiting and pinning (from the original post) what you find interesting.
- By linking up, you get a chance to be featured here at next week’s party and across social media accounts which includes the Farmhouse Friday board on Pinterest!
- When linking to this party, you are permitting us to share your posts and pictures via social media and as features, roundups, etc. with a link back to your post or a link back to this party on the week your post is featured.
- Thank you friends. We can hardly wait to see what you’ve been up to!

Welcome back! Mackinaw Island is stunning, I hope to return there as my first visit was just a tour! Thanks for hosting, have a wonderful week ahead.

Oh I hope you return! It’s very touristy now but still worth it. Except maybe during the winter. When I saw a photo of the horses bringing supplies from the mainland over the frozen lake I immediately said NO WAY! Scary stuff! Thanks for the visit Melynda.
Mackinac Islands is special place. Thank you for the party.

Special is a good word for it. And the people working there seem to really enjoy their jobs. Free rent and wifi was a common answer when I asked what they loved about it. 😉 Thanks for sharing your Bookworm Garden with us. I’ll put that on our list of vacation spots as we try and get away from the TX heat. Happy Anniversary!
Cindy,
Happy to hear you had a wonderful trip and was able to net some treasures too!!
Happy Labor Day weekend!!
My Link Ups for today’s party are # 16, 18 and 19!!

Thanks Laura. Our 34th anniversary is the Sept. 5th. We chose that so no matter what, we’d have at least one day off to celebrate. Who woulda thunk we’d have brains when we were 23 years old. 😉
Thanks for hosting, Cindy. I hope you like my grapevine planter. It’s perfect all year. I’m #45.

I saw that and I love it! I plan to make one soon. I’ve been looking for a unique (not plastic) planter for a long time! Thank you for sharing it with us.
I would love to visit Mackinac one day. I got to visit Michigan last year, but we didn’t have time to make that trip. Thanks so much for the shout out – I love that chocolate chip cheese ball. It’s kind of addictive. Have a great week!

So, Yvonne and Bobby were just visiting Mackinac Island, too! And another friend of mine was in MI last week, as well! Must be the place to go! Thanks for hosting! I miss our chats!

I miss our chats too. I’ve been so frustrated with my FB acct. being hacked and IG disabling it too. I’ve been trying to DM on IG and it keeps telling me I can’t. Three tries now and I’ve given up for another day. I think it’s like Alexa. It hears me say I hate IG and it’s making me pay for my attitude. :/
I am loving all the visiting MI comments!! Next time you’re visiting, please don’t hesitate to give me a shout!

Oh I would love that! Thank you Libbie. Enjoy that beautiful state!
