Hello, my lovely friends! Thank you for stopping by Farmhouse Friday 402. I truly don’t understand how life has gotten so busy. I remember my mother-in-law often saying that she and my FIL had quite the life. They were in their 60’s. Each time I heard her, I either chuckled or thought something sassy because she was sitting in her recliner.
When our kids were young, I told myself life was going to slow down once they graduated from high school. Then after college. It didn’t happen then either. And now that they are adulting, my life has somehow gotten even busier.
Even as I type this out, I’m wondering how to fit a birthday celebration in the same weekend as Father’s Day. Will it be before or after the garage sale that is planned?! I’m starting to think I’m doing it to myself! Oh well, I guess we too have quite the life and should be grateful for it.
A Father’s Day Buffet Idea That Will Have Him Smiling
I know you are busy too, but if you find the time and want to make Father’s Day a little more special, here’s what I put together last year for the Mister. I promise it was easy and we had a lot of fun.
Our theme this week is – Going Fruity! Why? Because I didn’t see any posts with nuts and that’s how I felt when I chose the features. Plus, it was just before dinner and I hadn’t had lunch. lol.
FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 402!
I’ve never heard of this. It sounds delicious and perfect for summer guests. Hop over to The Copper Table and get the recipe for now or pin for later! Yum!
Anyone else like a warm comfort food even in the summer, but don’t want to heat up the kitchen? I do! Here’s comfort and sumer rolled into one. Get the recipe for this slow-cooker peach cobbler from Mommy Hates Cooking.
3 Boys and a Dog shared this fun Unicorn Fruit Dip recipe. How fun would this be at a party or baby shower? Lots!
I wonder if all 5 of these Lemon Possets are considered one serving? I certainly hope so! Check out the post by Garden Feast. Looks pretty simple and perfect for summer. You’ll want to check out the book too!
FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 402 PARTY GUIDELINES:
- Your style does not have to be farmhouse, nor do you have to live in a farmhouse to link up. We’d like to see linkups like: Home DIY and Décor ~ Gardening ~ Crafts and Sewing ~ Recipes ~ Homesteading.
- It doesn’t matter how old your post is, please link your posts only once.
- The party runs from 6 AM, CST on Friday and ends at 11:59 PM, CST on Monday.
- We aren’t requiring a link back to this party but if you do, thanks! That’s mighty nice of you.
- A Link Party is a great way to grow your blog so please don’t post and run. Show some love by visiting and pinning (from the original post) what you find interesting.
- By linking up, you get a chance to be featured here at next week’s party and across social media accounts which includes the Farmhouse Friday board on Pinterest!
- When linking to this party, you are permitting us to share your posts and pictures via social media and as features, roundups, etc. with a link back to your post or a link back to this party on the week your post is featured.
- Thank you friends. We can hardly wait to see what you’ve been up to!
I remember my MIL saying she was too busy all the time too and having a good chuckle for the same reasons. And now here I am as well. Maybe our older bodies just don’t handle a lot of activity as well as our younger bodies did.

Well that statement is very true, but I really am busy and have quite the life. She didn’t. HA, just kidding! I have no clue. Thank you for stopping by Amy.
Yum, dessert week! Thanks for hosting, have a great week ahead. Melynda @scratchmadefood!

I hadn’t thought of it that way but YES, I love it! Thanks Melynda. Happy eating! 😉
Cindy,
Love the quote “Quite the Life”….Life is what you make it and I think the more involved in it you are, the better off you will be…I know people in their 80’s that can run circles around me . I am trying to model my new life without my husband after them….. But I still do like my “alone” time…
My Link Ups for today’s party are # 21, 22 and 23!!
Thanks so much for hosting this charming party!!! I truly do appreciate it as I do know the time involved with it….I hope you and your family are well and enjoying your week!
Hugs,
Deb

Thank you Debbie. I’m trying to exercise (a little) more so I can actually run (really, just walk) circles around someone when I am older. Although I prefer it to be in the air-conditioning with no sweating involved. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for another lovely party. You know i can relate to your busy schedule. I keep thinking it’s going to slow down, and then the Lord adds more to my plate, or I’m just to tired from what He’s giving me! 😉

I hadn’t thought of that before! I should be grateful for having things to do, and being able to do them! Thank you for that great reminder! Love it! Hope you get some needed rest this weekend.
