Spread the love

Happy Friday and welcome to Farmhouse Friday 396.  I have been so busy with life duties that I feel I haven’t been around much.  I’ve missed chatting with you and hearing about your lives.  Please catch me up in the comments.  I seriously want to hear!

I can’t remember the last time I blogged, got the car washed or even cleaned the floors!  My daughter was walking around  barefoot in the kitchen yesterday and asked what was on the floor.  All I could say was – oh yeah, it’s crispy dead flower parts.  All I could do was add it to the list.  Did I get to the floors?  Nope.  Did I get to my list at all?  Nope.

All that said, I’m hoping this weekend is a much needed respite and for the cleaning fairy to hit my house while I’m asleep.  I already have a list for her on the chalkboard.

On my list of things to do is change the mantel out with summer decor.  I really don’t want to.  This one makes me happy and I literally stop and look at the plates on the wall when I walk by.  The little duck plates at the top are adorable.  Tell me, do you change your decor to a summer look and if so, when?

Farmhouse Friday 396!

This weeks theme is Clever People.  It’s amazing what people get accomplished while I am not accomplishing anything.  Well, anything fun.

vintage crate full of lamps and greenery and bunnies and homemade flowers Lora Bloomquist has several collections I drool over.  This time it’s her vintage divided crates.  I’ve never seen the sorts!  Check them out before you go into an antique store again!

We seem to have a lot of the same taste. Recently drastically downsized, but still found room to hang my mom’s antique plate collection over the windows in the kitchen of our new house. (post #34) We have a dark mahogany antique mirror/mantel that I had hanging over our fireplace in last house, but this house is too small for a big fireplace, so we just have an electric one in a cabinet that our TV is on. I hung the big mirror mantel over my dresser in the bedroom. I’ll take photos of that (when it isn’t so dark & gloomy out) so I can post next time. So glad I found you!

I’m so glad you found me too. And the best part might be that we have the same taste and the same name! I’m Cynthia Lynn! I know my circle is small but I’ve only met one other Cynthia and her middle name wasn’t Lyn or Lynn. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I adore plates on the wall. For a while I struggled with adding them to places other than an eating area. Are you like that? I’m okay with it now even though I haven’t added them anywhere else yet. I’d love to see your home and how you’ve decorated it. So far it all sounds fabulous! Hope you’re having a great weekend. Thanks for commenting and visiting!

It was my pleasure Beth. Every time I see one of your gorgeous tablescapes I think you must have a warehouse full of dishes and table decor. I’m so jealous! ๐Ÿ™‚

Your “work” right now is a holy ministry; I’ve been there, and you keep honoring that momma:) Thanks for featuring my divided crates, and yes…I switched up the mantel a little-a little simpler, and a little less Easter. Summer will come later…we’re still very much in Spring here in the north. Love Rachel’s tulips; I hadn’t caught those. They are amazing! Thanks for taking the time to host, friend.

Thanks for hosting, Cindy! I feel the exact same way you do about getting things done. I had all the best intentions this morning, and then woke up to a broken water heater!
