Farmhouse Friday 433

Spread the love

Howdy Folks!  I feel like this week has flown by!  I had good intentions and started a blog post but just wasn’t able to get my act together.  I’m barely getting out Farmhouse Friday 433.  I guess there’s always next week.

But more importantly, I have a fashion question.  If yesterday was 70 degrees and sunny and next week is the same, is it appropriate to wear spring looking clothes in February?  I won’t wear white sandals or anything but what about white pants and a bright springy shirt?  If you saw me would you say – aww, bless her heart, she needs help? TIA!!!

I’ve decided since it’s still winter, the theme will be COMFORT FOOD!  That means today, you should link up your favorite recipe so next week you may be featured!  And don’t try to post a stick of celery with pimento cheese on it.  You may think that’s comforting but girl, you gotta appeal to the masses. 😉

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 433

heart shaped cookiesI would certainly love to get these little cuties as a gift for Valentine’s Day.  I bet the office or a teacher would too!  Click over to the Darcy and Brian blog to get the stained glass cookie recipe!  Everyone will love you!

two small jars with flowers and decorated for valentines day. Steph Creates Things shared her ideas for decorating glass jars.  I bet the littles would enjoy this too!  Pop over and see how she did it.

white kitchen with Valentine's decor and pink poinsettias. Penny’s Treasures has quite the festive kitchen!  Even the stovetop is decorated!  Love all the pink.  You’ll want to hop on over to see the rest of her space.

    Cindy,

oh, thank you for featuring my mini Valentine jars. So happy you enjoyed them. They are so easy to make too!

Thank you for sharing this space so that we can share our latest creations. It’s appreciated very much.

And I wouldn’t judge you if you decided to wear spring clothes now. If the weather is nice enough for it, why not? Go for it! Have a beautiful weekend ahead.

You are welcome Steph. I don’t know why every week I’m still surprised at the crafts you post. But this is coming from someone who can’t stand crafting. LOL. Thank you for linking up. Happy Friday!

Thank you. These days there are no longer any rules for fashion like there used to be. But I personally like to dress in the colors of the season, if it’s winter I wear more earth tones, if it’s spring I wear pastels, etc.

    • February 6, 2026 / 11:28 am

I agree with you. Although I can’t bring myself to wear white shoes until after Easter. LOL! Thanks Amy. Hope you have a great weekend.

Haha. I live in Coastal South Florida and wear a white jean skirt, white linen midi skirt with sweaters all winter. Compliments abound. When youre comfortable in what you’re wearing it always reads “stylish and chic” GO FOR IT ❤️

    • February 6, 2026 / 11:33 am

Oh, I wish I could hang out with you! Thank you for the advice. It’s given me more courage!

I can’t imagine anyone up north having fashion issues like we do down in TX. The teens are the most comical. It’s snowing outside and they have on shorts and a sweatshirt or a long sleeved t-shirt. And some of them are in pajamas. 🙂 Are the teens like that up north?

Thanks for hosting, Cindy! I’m linking up my regular posts for the week, plus a yummy trifle recipe that’s perfect for Valentine’s! (Don’t ask this So-Cal girl about wearing white now… we wear white all the time here!)

    • February 6, 2026 / 11:38 am

Girl, you have it easy on the fashion front. Although, you probably see more skin than most being in So-Cal. 😉 Thanks for linking up!

The snow north of Dallas has finally melted! Even when it went into the 40s & 50s, the nights were in the 20s, so it just refroze into ice. But now it’s in the 70s with possible 80s next week! Daffodils are coming up and I’m finally wearing my actual flip flops (I posted a photo of the fur-line Ugg flip flops that I’ll wear with long boot-cut jeans until I absolutely have to switch to short boots). But white pants? No, that would look strange … cropped or capri jeans or dark pants would be great though (I’ve gotten my ankle jeans out now too ~ and really lightweight sweaters & flowy long-sleeve tops). I switch to lavendar or pink nail polish right after New Year’s ~ can’t wait to get rid of earthtones and green & red! Spring colors are more “me” ~ Dollar Tree has some really cute garden stuff for Spring already too, so check it out!

    • February 6, 2026 / 12:10 pm

I feel like we are going to get an early spring with the usual freeze again in March. Either way, I’m here for it! I love spring! Thank you for the guidance. NO white pants. 😉 Looking forward to seeing your post. Enjoy the weekend!

Happy February, Cindy! Thanks so much for hosting us all each week – I’ll look forward to the comfort food posts to come! Sounds like you are having lovely weather. It feels like spring here, too, although our temps are in the 40’s! LOL! Have a good week!

    • February 6, 2026 / 12:21 pm

Thank you Laura. I was going to post your Valentine Card Shop but the images are not in a jpg or png form. It was fun seeing the littles though. They looked very intrigued. 🙂 Happy Valentine’s Day.

  9. February 6, 2026 / 11:09 am

I just posted a photo of the flowered ankle jeans that I’m wearing today, since it will be about 76 north of Dallas ~ and flip flops ~ although it’s still cooling down quite a bit at night. I love these jeans because I can wear pastel Spring tops with them! (They’re Kut from the Kloth, if you want to try to find some)

    • February 6, 2026 / 12:34 pm

I saw those flip flops and jeans. They are super cute and I just might try and find some! I’m blown away by the videos from people creating their own cross-stitch and embroidered jeans and canvas shoes! Thank you for sharing them with us Cindy. Enjoy the beautiful weather!

Happy Friday! I’m about to spit nails over here. We are in the middle of yet another snow pileup. It is sticking immediately on top of the ice and snow remaining from 1/25 and the two intermittent snows since. Sick.of.it. I could use some comfort food.

    • February 6, 2026 / 12:36 pm

Aww, that makes me sad for you. I was whining about the few days we were cooped up here. I can’t imagine that much snow and ice! Hopefully we’ll have a lot of comfort food posts. Come back and check later. Stay cozy friend!

    • February 6, 2026 / 12:37 pm

Thank you Esme! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  11. February 6, 2026 / 11:43 am

Sorry no comfort food this week; still feeling the Vday vibes;) Fashion? What’s that? I’m just jealous of your 70’s; felt tropical here yday when it was 37!

    • February 6, 2026 / 12:38 pm

LOLOL 37 degrees as tropical is hilarious. I’m wearing crop jeans and a light sweater today and I bet I’ll be hot! 🙂 No complaints out of me though. Stay cozy and thank you for linking up.

Girl I never know what to wear this time of year. I just dress in layers, and continue shedding through out the day LOL!

    • February 7, 2026 / 12:03 pm

I did that a couple of days ago and wish I had never worn the tank under my shirt! LOL I was hot even after removing the lightweight cardigan.

My pleasure. It was such a great idea and absolutely darling. I love the simplicity!
