Farmhouse Friday 419

Spread the love

Happy weekend folks, and welcome to Farmhouse Friday 418.  How was your week?  Mine was uneventful compared to last week.  Although I spent 3 hours in the front pasture videoing the power company chop down several dead trees.  It may sound like I was doing this for me.  Nope.  It was for the Mister who is still working out of town.  I asked if it was for a refund in case they cut down the live trees.  He actually thought I was serious.  LOL.  You’d think after 41 years of being together, he’d understand my humor.

The theme this week is for those who celebrate Halloween.  Let’s get to it.

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 419

white birdcage with spiders and orange pumpkin light-up garlandFirst up is Niky from The House on Silverado.  She’s upcycled a thrifted birdcage.  I think it’s super smart and frighteningly fantastic!  Fly on over to see the before and after.  It will get your wheels a turnin’!

crocheted doily made into a ghostFor those of us who love old things, we have plenty of doilies to make this fun little ghoul.  Pop into The Apple Street Cottage and let Ann show you how she did it.  This would be something the grand-littles would enjoy.

several bottles of "potions" with Halloween labelsAre you a fan of Harry Potter?  If so, these potion bottles will spook you right into making a few.  Check them out at Press Print Party, where Nathalie will share her easy steps.

Thank you for featuring my Doily Ghost, Cindy. We also have some trees that need to come down, but we’re the ones who will be doing it. New cottage(for us)/former rental house problems! Never a dull moment!

Ahh yes, the challenges of a prior rental. We get that. Wishing you the best with that.
There are a couple more trees that need to come down and the Mister says he’ll do it himself because they charge an arm and a leg to do it. When I was watching them take the others down, I can see why it’s so expensive. Thanks for the visit Ann and I enjoyed featuring that cute doily ghost. 🙂

We’ve had to have so many dead trees removed over the past few years. Mostly ash trees which have been having major issues in our area. Thanks for hosting and enjoy your weekend!

We had Ash trees put in at our last house and they had to be replaced a few years back. We didn’t know they were fast growing and fast dying! Happy Fall Shelley

That art from Our Grand Lives is so fun, and pretty amazing what they all did with their own pieces! I love the idea of using the technique/idea for other holidays, too! Thanks for hosting, Cindy! Love ya!

    Fun Friday Features!
I’ve videoed trees being cut for a neighbor who was out of town. Full disclosure: I wish they’d cut more than they did.

Ain’t gonna lie, I like a high canopy at home. We have about 12 trees in the front yard and the grass has a hard time growing. And lawd lawd, the amount of leaves to rake is ridiculous! Everyone else’s yard looks nice and trim. Ours seems to always look like crap. Even when the Mister works really hard at keeping it nice. And forget the mulch. We add it every year and every year the leaves junk it up within a week. :/ Here at the farmhouse though, we like as many trees up in that front pasture as can grow. It really helps with the road noise. Plus, I get lots and lots of cuttings from them each season. Happy fall friend!
