Howdy folks! Thank you for stopping by Farmhouse Friday 408. Are y’all hot? Each time I walk outside, I think the entire world has turned on its hairdryers all at once. But that is not a complaint. Why? Because each day of summer brings us closer to Autumn!

I’ve not been in a craft store in a very long time, so I’m out of the loop on “fall trends”. Honestly, I snort even saying that. Fall Trends? What is that, pumpkins, leaves, and gourds? LOL! Whatever the trend that I’m not buying, I’m still here for it. Frankly, I’ll start switching our home to a fall look next week. That’s one of the many things I love about blogging. I set about the new season of decorating extra early – woohoo! Okay, enough crazy talk.
A Cottage Style Entryway Decorated For Late Summer – Pinterest Challenge!
If you missed the Pinterest Challenge this week, we shared entryway ideas. I found some great inspo and things to do that I’d never thought of before. It’s worth checking out. Just click the pink link above.
FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 408
We’ve not done a good ol’ Home Decorating theme in a while so that’s our fabulous feature theme this week. Yay!
Starting off our home decorating theme is Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse. If you truly want a beautiful, rustic, farmhouse look with thrifted finds, she’s your gal. Hop over and see all 3 of her vintage basket centerpiece ideas.
Lora Bloomquist is another super clever and creative lady. She finds the best stuff. And a lot of it on the curb! Pop in to see how she made her no-sew jean pocket banner and pin it for later. I’ve already collected 6 pockets since seeing this!
Penny from Penny’s Treasures has the cutest indoor and outdoor spaces! Wouldn’t you love spending a (cool) summer day rocking away in that atmosphere? I would! It’s so happy! Check out the rest of her late summer back porch to get more great ideas.
Cindy at DIY Beautify is another creative mind with tons of crafty ideas. I love her latest chic lace edged books. Maybe this will be my excuse to visit the craft store?! So pretty.

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 408 PARTY GUIDELINES:
- Your style does not have to be farmhouse, nor do you have to live in a farmhouse to link up. We’d like to see linkups like: Home DIY and Décor ~ Gardening ~ Crafts and Sewing ~ Recipes ~ Homesteading.
- It doesn’t matter how old your post is, please link your posts only once.
- The party runs from 6 AM, CST on Friday and ends at 11:59 PM, CST on Monday.
- We aren’t requiring a link back to this party but if you do, thanks! That’s mighty nice of you.
- A Link Party is a great way to grow your blog so please don’t post and run. Show some love by visiting and pinning (from the original post) what you find interesting.
- By linking up, you get a chance to be featured here at next week’s party and across social media accounts which includes the Farmhouse Friday board on Pinterest!
- When linking to this party, you are permitting us to share your posts and pictures via social media and as features, roundups, etc. with a link back to your post or a link back to this party on the week your post is featured.
- Thank you friends. We can hardly wait to see what you’ve been up to!

My pleasure Penny! It’s absolutely lovely. Thank YOU for linking up!
My oldest daughter is totally a Fall / Pumpkin person and marks down the date when Starbuck’s releases their Pumpkin Lattes. I’m the opposite and don’t understand why people prefer earthtones and dead leaves to bright sunshine, green grass and bright summer flowers. In the middle of winter, I’m outside finding whatever sun I can put my face in (and even take off my boots, if it’s not too cold). A week of Fall ~ 1 week of Christmas music ~ then I’m done and counting the days until Spring and Summer! North Texas hasn’t had even one triple digit day yet, and unusual amounts of rain, so it’s so pretty outside and not unbearably hot with a breeze (especially if I’m floating in the pool ~ haha). You can probably tell my posts by the bright Summer ones!

We took a trip to the New England States last fall and I wish I had never come home. The colors are the brightest red, orange, green, and yellow. And the air outside was crisp, cool, and perfect. My entire childhood was spent vacationing at some beach. I liked it at the time but the moment I experienced the difference (1981), I was over it. I even turned down a trip to Hawaii!
All that said, I love your enthusiasm and it sounds like you are thoroughly enjoying your summer. That’s what’s important. Of course, that Mango Pineapple Frozen Daiquiri wouldn’t hurt. 😉 Happy summer Cynthia.

Thank you so much for sharing my basket centerpiece ideas.

My pleasure Rachel. Your basket ideas are interesting and charming.
I agree about early decor… it’s so fun to decorate early to inspire others, and have your home looking lovely for the coming season. I agree about the hairdryers, too! Just got word from a sponsor that I will be getting product for my countertops. Not sure how it will work with the heat… the AC may be on full force for a day or two! Thanks for hosting, Cindy!

Well that’s exciting! Congrats Julie! Looking forward to seeing them. I think it’s funny that you only have to run your AC on full blast for a couple of days. Ours is a 24/7 thing from May to October around here.
Cute features! I’m leaning toward fall too. Walking at 6:30 am to avoid the sun and added heat, but It was already 76° and 88% humidity this morning. Gah! Happy weekend.

Gah is right! My plants are scorched. Even the ones in the shade! We water them everyday and still they are dying. Poor little things. Have a great weekend Rita.
Thanks for featuring my jean pocket garland, Cindy. Perfect for a little back to school decor! We still have a full month of summer left in the north, so no…not ready for autumn yet. But I am getting a little sick of some of my decor, so might start clearing the slate a little in some spots;)

“Getting a little sick” of decor is a good way to put it. I feel the same. I just added some fresh flowers to the kitchen and family room in pink and green so that boosted my spirits but I think once August hits, I’m going to be over it. Happy to add your jean garland. It’s so cute!
