No Sew DIY Alexa Cover!

Spread the love

I know already you’re giving me the rolling eyes or laughing hysterically because you think I’ve lost it.  I get it.  My youngest did.  But I am tired of trying to hide Alexa!  I love her but when I say Alexa, make yourself beautiful, she doesn’t understand.  So today I’m showing you my 15 minute No Sew DIY Alexa Cover!  LOL.

Be honest.  Does anyone else try and hide the Alexa?  I’ve put it in the kitchen behind the cookie jar, in the family room behind a picture frame and even on the bar next to the lamp.  But everywhere I put it, it looks yucky or crowded or like a giant black tube asking to be knocked over.  When Alexa was made they obviously had function, not form, on their creative minds.

Supplies Needed for a No Sew DIY Alexa Cover

Scrap piece of painters drop cloth

Double sided tape

Embellishments such as ribbon and flowers

4 Easy Peasy Steps:

Step 1: Measure and cut your piece of scrap painters drop cloth

Whaa Bam!  Isn’t that adorable?!  Isn’t it the cutest No Sew DIY Alexa Cover you’ve ever seen?  That ugly black tube is now struttin’ her stuff!  Struttin’ herself down the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade while playing music for the Rockettes.  And I’ll be there like a proud mama waving from the curb!

I know you laughed when you read the title.  But I bet now you’re thinking you better get to the craft store?  Mhmm, I knew it!  BTW, if you are worried that it makes it difficult to use, it’s not.  I can still easily turn the top.  Or if you’re concerned that it may diminish sound, it doesn’t (not that it gives out great sound anyway).  Use burlap or a thinner decorative fabric instead.  😉

I’ve had a couple of friends ask about the chicken wire cloche in the picture above.  I made that too!  Just click here if you’d like to see that DIY.  Enjoy your week!  🙂

I love it!! No Alexa here at our house but I can fully appreciate why you did this and it looks adorable.

Can you make a cover for our tv and Bose box on the mantel? Ugh!!

LOL Stacey, I wish I could. We have a hideous giant black box speaker too but covering it would make it worse I think. But I think wires are worse! Why can’t everything be wireless? 😉
