Cake Stands Aren’t Just For Cake!

Rise and shine sweet friends!  How are you?  Last weekend the Mister and I celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary.  Our first date was in January 1984.  We were just babies in high school.  Really we’ve been together 34 years!  That’s a long time in my book and things are good.  Great actually.  And tomorrow is my 52nd b-day so with my hands in the air pumpin up and down, I sing – Party over here, ooh ooh.  Party over there, ooh ooh!  That’s right, September is the bestest and I milk every last day out of it.

For our anniversary we decided to celebrate by taking a day trip through a few small towns near Navasota to do some junkin while checking out the local eateries.   I got some adorable things that I’ll be showing you in future posts but today, here’s a pumpkin I found.  I added it to a cake stand with a wreath.  Do y’all do that?  Use cake stands in your decor?  I definitely do.  Not only does it elevate whatever it is holding but the presentation is more stylish too.  This had me think of other ways I use cake stands.  That’s what I’m sharing today!  Cake stands aren’t just for cake!

This cake stand is probably my favorite.  My friend Jenny gave it to me years ago with a homemade cake on it!  So pretty and sooooo tasty!

How about using one for a table centerpiece.  The focus is higher but not so high you can’t see the guests across from you.

If you are having people over and serving buffet style, think about using a cake stand to make things that sit in the back a little easier to reach.  Like the plates.  And of course you always want your buffet to look nice too.  Add festive decor that suits your season.

If you peruse Pinterest, you’ll find lots of different ideas and see cake stands aren’t just for cake.

Feel free to bake me a birthday cake and bring it on over.  I’m a cake-eater and love all flavors.  I’ll clear the table and set a place for both of us!  πŸ™‚

Such cute ideas and I LOVE your new pumpkin! I use a cake stand in my bedroom on top of the dresser to elevate a vase of dried hydrangeas. I’m pretty sure I’ve never used it for cake, ha ha!

I loved all of your cakestand vignettes. I was sure you mugged some chickens for all those feathers; glad they were a wreathe! I’d be sweeping up feathers for a month!

HA! You made me laugh out loud! I’ve seen some mean chickens that needed to have their feathers plucked out but I’m too chicken to do it myself! Thanks for the love Kathy.

Great ideas! That pumpkin with the doily and glass knob. Oh…how I LOVE that! I’m SO excited to be headed to Texas in October to see my cousin! Yay!

Thank you Linda! Those white doily pumpkins have been my favorite. Glad you’re coming to TX in October! I think that and November are the two best months out of the year. Enjoy your family time!

Love the cake pedestal decor idea!
And by the way, I love day trips, I like to come home to my own bed.

Yep, I’m with you. Day trips are awesome! Even when we stay a few days in Navasota, which I love, there’s nothing like the bed here in HV. Thanks Chris for visiting today!
